Looks like Dhoni needs some break here. So, who is the next wk batsmen for india now....Karthik seems to loose his touch (although i never liked him)...so is parthiv patel....I don't think naman ojha has quality to play one-dayers...so who is the next best candidate

Both Dhoni and Bhajji are in the team for foreseeable future in all formats because they just don't have any competition for their places. Karthik and Patel were horror shows when they had their chances.

He hardly Plays for Bengal :dontknow:
From the U-19 WC team Kohli led, short guy would remind you of PaPa, unlike him very good with the gloves, opens for his state side, kept a keen eye on his performances with Bengal, one defn for the future.

Its Saha? Any domestic matches you saw him keeping for Bengal? Whatever i had of him as a player was for U-19 side led by Kohli and RCB.

Not yet in a FC game, He kept to Anil Kumble/Steyn/Kallis at his time at RCB and was quite impressive, very compact player, more of a batsman. Would like to see him grow in the FC Structure this season, we should be grooming him for a future at the Test Level.

Naman Ojha...but we need to groom someone as a backup...we faced a crisis for a long time when Mongia was retired/banned...Dinesh and PP are good backups as they have OCCASIONALLY proven themselves at the highest level against good teams

Uday Kaul, the Punjab keeper I believe is one who we should be hearing more about. Unfortunately he hasn't yet been picked even for India A which is extremely surprising given his consisten performances in last 2-3 seasons. 1st class average of nearly 50 and extremely good technique behind the wickets (saw him keep in the ongoing Punjab vs Karnataka match and he was extremely impressive both with the bat and gloves).

Was he in the IPL???

Lokesh Rahul who was the U19 keeper in the last WC- supposed to be a pretty promising kid, good batter too... I hear Dravid is a fan...though he is a bit young for this discussion Yes, bit surprising that Kaul has not played yet for Ind A, he has started this season in good form too- good knock of 90-odd vs a strong Karnataka attack yesterday. Matter of time for sure from what I read/hear.

You missed one Name- Wriddhiman Saha.
Problem is Saha was unimpressive (batting) in whatever little India outing he got. And then he dropped a simple catch in Ranji Trophy now (though that should not by itself be a terrible thing, since MSD too drops simple ones). But yes, he is one among the many names out there. And there is no one Strong Contender yet for MSD.

Disagree. I think he was really impressive as a keeper who can bat. He was played as a batsman, That was a wrong decision against Saffers ( He is an Wicket Keeper) . By that standard he was Unimpressive offcourse. But as a Wicket Keeper who can Bat i think he was really impressive with his bat against Stein and Co where apart from SRT and Sehwag couldnt manage much runs he scored a Gutsy 40 odd with good technique in the first Innings though he failed in the 2nd. Am not sure how many Keepers from India could have managed that if we leave MSD ( though he failed throughout the series).

Gujju boy gets no love. Sure he got the dropsies and deserved to be booted out. But he's the best test bat by a distance in that bunch, and i'm sure his keeping must be better now. I'm sure all of you never screwed up in your 1st or 2nd year of your careers - and if you did, you should be written off forever right?
