maniac Posted December 19, 2010 Posted December 19, 2010 The guy hasn't played a FC match in 2 fking years, and be honest, he wouldn't have done jackshit on this pitch either. If this is true then it is ridiculous that this guy is supposed to spearhead our attack in ODI's in absence of ZAK. Munaf might have been a tried and tested failure but we need to stop inducting raw unproven bowlers time and time again. He would have definetely learnt something I hope since 2006 and would have been a better bet than Unadkat. I am also not writing Unadkat completely off but he looked like a deer in headlights in this test match.
gs Posted December 19, 2010 Posted December 19, 2010 Unadkat would have been a trundler in FC cricket too. How did selectors expect him to magically transform into Malcom Marshall in test cricket?!? Trying out trundlers time and again is a sort of logic that is completely beyond me! Umesh Yadav would have been a better choice since he can bowl at express pace and maybe test the batsmen at least a bit.
rkt.india Posted December 19, 2010 Posted December 19, 2010 I am actually very surprized..I remember I saw Jaydev Unadkat bowling in U-19 at around 142..He lost his pace within 2 years ..wah India wah due he is just 19..io havent seen many 19 year old bowlers to bowl 145..his fastest was 135 which is good enough as an 18-19 year old...he will mature and gain strength...he has a good string action..he must bowl quicker in 2-3 years..
IKnowU Posted December 19, 2010 Posted December 19, 2010 Play Ohja, Zaheer and Ishant and Yadav next test. Thats a much better bowling line up, but Dhobi love for darts and slaps prevails.
PakistaniYorker Posted December 19, 2010 Posted December 19, 2010 What a pathetic bowler Unadkat is. What did the selectors see in him? Must be a sifarshi, only way a bowler of his calibre can play Test cricket. A typical Indian trundler. Looks like a left-handed Kuruvilla. Please select some real bowlers.

Atleast I am proud of this guy that he is not a CHEATER or SOLD his country..I rather have Jaydev than your effing cheater M.Amir

I am shocked as to why they played him ahead of Umesh Yadav.. who is definitely 135k to 138 K bowler if not faster... Africa has hard tracks bowlers need to hit the deck and i feel ishant and umesh can do well ..Zaheer may also do well becos of his experience. Sreesanth is also going down ...not improving but going down as a bowler. Vishal
vishalvirsingh Posted December 20, 2010 Posted December 20, 2010 they played him just to have a left armer...or if he had bowled on the first day he could have had some effect with swing....a bowler hwo can hit the deck hard is best suited for these pitches if thr is no swing available...Ishant cud have done that but he was out of rhythm...dont know why they didnt play umesh yadav..he may have got a few bouncers up to their noses... yes ..steven got dhoni of a bouncer...umesh cud have done the same to a few of their batsmen as well..Jaidev is no match to UMESH YADAV.
bra12vo Posted December 20, 2010 Posted December 20, 2010 Agree with you, he is not look like a mature person

Yantra Posted December 20, 2010 Posted December 20, 2010 Common Guys, I know Unadkat is not yet international class, but he did not bowl that bad, to me he bowled better then Sreesanth and Sharma, he was getting good bounce of the pitch, was more accurate the sree or sharma, main thing was he was not able get the swing, which he should have got by looking at what he did in U19 WC, btw he fastest in U19 was 139K, and was on the average about 135K, so he did lack the speed in this test, may be bit nervous, I am really disappointed with Sree, we should not pick him anymore for india, he is so unpredictable, and just can not trust him, when you want him more he will let you down, Sharma was below par, I would go with Zak, Umesh, Sharma and Unadkat

PakSwinger Posted December 22, 2010 Posted December 22, 2010 Unadkat is in the team to spread the message of love and peace in this world. Mahatma Gandhi, also from the same Porbandar where Unadkat comes from, started his journey of non violence from South Africa. Unadkat is only following a great. If Kallis hits a four of the first ball, bowl a similar second so he can hit another 4. After a while Kallis will get tired and ashamed of his violence (and hopefully die of boredom). LMAO!...made my day
Yantra Posted December 23, 2010 Posted December 23, 2010 Bhajji is useless in foreign condition, does not have enough variety to trouble batsman, In durban you need extra pacer,
saneindian Posted September 21, 2012 Posted September 21, 2012 BUMP Back to back 4 wicket hauls for India A for Unadkat vs NZ A. 4/44 followed by 4/47 Making good use of the chance he has got on this tour.
Crookbond Posted September 21, 2012 Posted September 21, 2012 Yup - I am not sure how much he has changed since last time.
