Even great SA seamers are not getting wickets and that too on last day..that too with attacking field..so may may be pitch has lost the bit especially with old ball
These are top genuine batsmen playing here to survive..they are not in any hurry to score...SA had boucher and tailenders there and even with the second new ball they let Styen and morkal to score 100 odd runs more...and if you still favor Indian fast bowlers...remember the first day of this test..they could not take benefit of those conditions..that was not a 232/4 conditions on first day in 70 overs....they were very unimpressive then too....

because fielders were set on boundary thats why he went for less fours..but the main thing is he could not trouble Kallis much or u can say Kallis played him better and there was no support from the other end......
The Saffers had no clue how to play Harbhajan (they struggle against spinners, check recent collapses against Swann & Shakib). Kallis too wasn't playing him very well, he found a way to counter him by reverse sweeping and we made his task much easy by sending men on boundary. If you keep men on boundary any decent player would look comfortable, even if its Warne or bhajji.

Awesome .. this should shut up all the people who questioned our numero uno position.. and hopefully we will dominate the no.1 ranking for many more years as this was the most crucial series. England is overhyped and they would face again the same results as they did in the past while playing in India. We will be no.1 almost sure till the end of 2011 :yay:

Pitch has dried and deteriorated, if they had a decent spinner, they could've caused problems even to our legendary batting lineup. There's nothing in it for the fast bowlers.

If someone had offered us a draw here before the series begun especially if Zak was going to be out the first test of a 3 match series, I would taken it. Both teams showed that they are the #1 and #2 in the world, and I am proud of this team that they came back unscathed, with no major dent to their #1 ranking. SAF ofc were expected to do better given that the pitches suited their bowlers and it was their home after all, and I am happy with 1-1, altho we all ofc would have wanted to get that elusive series win here. Overall a fine effort with special mention to SRT, Lax, Sree, Harby, Zak and Gauti. Few of the disappointments include Pujara's non performance, Sehwag's non-productivity and Ishant's total uselessness.

Dravid? - Disappointing. He was selected because he could do well here. He failed to cross 50 here. (Atleast sehwag got one)

you have summed up well A drawn series is a great result considering the difference in penetration between the two bowling attacks. Tendulkar has played his best overseas tour, taking into account the hostile conditions against the best pace attack in the world. He was brilliant Laxman, as usual produced a miracle Dhoni played some good innings Gambhir has shown he can play everywhere and has a great temperament. Very happy with his performance. Harbhajan was the suprise package for me, bowled superbly in 2nd test, 3rd was good but lucky though Zaheer was off and on, Sreesanth was good, Ishant well no comments. Dravid was dissapointing, very bad series to his high standards. Sehwag was pretty poor, got himself out most times. What could have been a memorable series for both him and the team, got completely messed up due to his shot selection and recklessness. Vijay was ok. He set up two decent partnerships with Sehwag in the low scoring test match. He had the toughest role to do and he did fairly ok. Pujara (the new savior of Indian cricket) was no show Raina failed in one test and not played after that. Would have been very handy in the 2nd innings of the last test. Hope he turns it around in the ODI series.

Agree, Dravid definitely disappointed, but I didn't want to kick him more when he is down. :winky:

well SA had to score to get out trouble....and Dhoni had to have in and out field to restrict the flows..Only problem was Zaheer, I don't think was fit enough to bowl..

Mixed feelings about this tour, tbh. Prior to the tour, I would've taken 1-1 in a blink of an eye but knowing that we squatted our chances to actually pull a series win I am not quite satisfied by the way we played in 2nd innings (be it bowling or batting). Bowling, this has always been our problem and it's really frustrating to see us in same effing dilemma of not finishing our job or be consistent at bowling tight spells. Sreesanth really needs to the shut the **** up and buckle up if he wants to improve his credentials in tests. I have no problem with Sree running his mouth had he been able to back it up with consistent performances. I honestly think that he is his own enemy and loses focus by his antics, so he should give that a rest and be the bowler he can actually be. Also, given that we have 3-4 months before we play our first test, we need to groom some fast bowlers who have the match fitness to bowl longer spells if needed to.

rkt.india is dead right..... i think our bowling sucks specially in 3rd test, v did well in durban but didnt utilize the condition on day 1. I think Zak will also retire soon coz of his injury problems. Serious problem ahead for us.

Agreed. Well Played to both India and South Africa. Good series.

Yes, :hatsoff: to these guys. If we had better captaincy from Kaptaan Mahendra Dhoni, even the Cape Town result may have been different.

Yeh me too but I'm glad we have 4 tests against an increasingly smug England coming up. We will need to find another seam option before then though.
Haha, that'll be fun. Pity about Sree, he'd have been a handful in those conditions.

why?:nervous:
I dunno man. He seems to be having a hellish time in the team, no one supports him. I dunno if he will be able to cope with all that and still play well.

I dunno if he will be able to cope with all that and still play well.[/quote'] If he is fit, there is no way Sree will not be selected for swinging conditions in England. Though I am not a big fan of his antics, I feel bad for that poor guy, whom Dhoni has made a convenient scapegoat to boost his own image. Dhoni certainly lacks the guts of Sourav when it comes to standing up to the whites - he seems to be too conscious of his false self-image.
