Also, players of corrupt nature, who knows they might fix even in group stages to throw matches against Zim or Canada.Quarterfinal at most. Bangladesh - They'll even lose to Ireland and the Dutch, expectation will lead them to failure. NewZealand - Thanks to an easy group they will get a shot in the Q.Finals, will lose definitely. Zimbabwe - Can cause a few upsets, maybe against New Zealand or beat Pakistan(wait that's not an upset), can even get a sneaky win in the Quarters who knows. West Indies - Will beat Ireland, Banglas and the Dutch. Reach Quarters but will face defeat. Dark Horse = Zimbabwe

maniac Posted January 22, 2011 Posted January 22, 2011 I would say WI,Pak and NZL because they consist of some dangerous players among their ranks who may give that one freak performance and all of a sudden they are in Semis or Finals. Bang/Nzl have some good cricketers but they need team effort to win every single game Westindies:Gayle,Pollard,Bravo,Roach,Sarwan,Chandrepaul and Sammy...quite a few mercurial match winners...If they reach the knockout stages they might spring a few surprises. Pakistan:Afridi,Razzaq and Gul...One freakish performance by these inconsistent players and they have a good chance.They have shown that in the past. Newzealand:Vettori,Mccullum,Oram and Taylor can be very dangerous on their day. Bangladesh:Shakib and Tamim are good but I don't see them as freakish performers like the above mentioned,They might fight well but will not go a long way.
gsivak Posted January 22, 2011 Posted January 22, 2011 I chose Bangladesh because according to me Pakistan is not a dark horse but one of main contenders. They as a team are either totally lousy or brilliant, so till they are out of the tournament better not to under estimate them.
Hindustani Posted January 23, 2011 Posted January 23, 2011 I am not sure why ppl are discounting Pakistan and Bangladesh so easily, they are playing in subcontinent and have good spin attacks, infact SL, BD, Pak will be more threatening than SA, Aus and England. Don't be surprised if 3 out of 4 teams in SF are from subcontinent unless fixtures prevent such possibility

They have 0 expectations on them at the moment..and that is what would make them a dangerous side. India on the other hand have expectations the size of the himalayas piling up on em..Sachin's final WC etc..I don't like the way this is shaping up for us guys.
