vvvslaxman Posted February 27, 2011 Posted February 27, 2011 Dhoni probably had his worst match? His field sets were awful. No midwicket for strauss. No third man or fineleg for Zaheer upfront. For someone who sits on the back and cuts and pulls had 3 fielder staying in a straight line infront. Random bowling changes. Far too many gaps. You can keep going. Dhoni was a fail in this match.
Anakin Posted February 27, 2011 Posted February 27, 2011 And the Dhoni fan brigade thinks he's the best captain ever :hehe:
Sid Posted February 27, 2011 Posted February 27, 2011 Its not the 1qst match ,Against Pak in champions trophy,he was equally clueless and rubbish .Very defensive, was reactive rather than proactive
Sir_Afridi Posted February 27, 2011 Posted February 27, 2011 Not really Dhoni fault. If a bowler dont bowl to field and gives boundary bowl every over then captain can do nothing.
don_corleone840 Posted February 27, 2011 Posted February 27, 2011 And the Dhoni fan brigade thinks he's the best captain ever :hehe: what the hell can dhoni do when we have such a crappppppppppppppppppppppppp bowlers. Our bowling attack is worse than bermuda. No need to blame dhoni
Sid Posted February 27, 2011 Posted February 27, 2011 And the Dhoni fan brigade thinks he's the best captain ever :hehe: Coming from a Dada fan :hehe:

Sachin=GOD Posted February 27, 2011 Posted February 27, 2011 Seems like Dhoni's luck has run out - because thats what he has always been, a lucky captain, never a tactically brilliant one.
The Realist Posted February 27, 2011 Posted February 27, 2011 Dhoni is just a defensive captain thesedays, was more attacking when first started. Now just seems stale and lacking in ideas. After the WC somebody else should have a shot at the limited overs captaincy
Sachinism Posted February 27, 2011 Posted February 27, 2011 Dhonis waiting for England to take the powerplay before attacking, while England know they can get away with an easy win with this spread field and don't need the powerplay
Ramzz Posted February 27, 2011 Posted February 27, 2011 As much as I think that Dhoni is a defensive captain...he is helpless in these kind of situations...in fact...any captain would be. The bowlers are giving one boundary ball an over...heck we know they have to chase 340...the main objective should be to limit scoring in the powerplays by picking WICKETS. Our bowlers seem to go on the defensive since the very beginning...seems like they are interesting in picking wickets by frustrating the batsmen. We need to attack the opening batsmen with everything we got...we should be bowling death over style...yorkers yorkers mixed with bouncers and slower ones...just don;t be predictable. Keep changing the bowling so keep the batsmen guessing and make them go over the top for FFS
SachDan Posted February 27, 2011 Posted February 27, 2011 ^aren't your watching??? He's inside stadium
vaibhav_delhi Posted February 27, 2011 Posted February 27, 2011 1. picking chawla, munaf over nehra n ashwin. 2. promoting yuvi over kohli. 3. bad field-placings so, pretty bad captaincy today and a much needed wakeup call.
Prudent Posted February 27, 2011 Posted February 27, 2011 Can someone send him an earplug? Strauss was out twice today!
NareshK Posted February 27, 2011 Posted February 27, 2011 Completely agree. He set defensive fields when Strauss and Bell were batting and allowed them easy singles. They could just play risk free cricket and take easy singles and build a partnership which allowed them to get closer to the target. At this point, I was so annoyed by Dhoni's game plan that I stopped watching. It was only after the power play was taken by England that they had to go for shots because the fielders had to be brought inside and wickets fell and India had a sniff. Zaheer bowled well but Dhoni's captaincy was pathetic to say the least. What's the point in allowing singles when the need was to take wickets ? Really brain dead strategy. I lost all respect for Dhoni, even if I had any in the first place. This guy is one of the luckiest people I have seen in my life.

He just let it drift.
ravishingravi Posted February 27, 2011 Posted February 27, 2011 What can dhoni if the bowlers don't understand the concept of line and length.
Sachin=GOD Posted February 27, 2011 Posted February 27, 2011 What can dhoni if the bowlers don't understand the concept of line and length. he can set some fielders in the right positions.
Lord Posted February 27, 2011 Posted February 27, 2011 not only fields, his use of Chawla was shocking,a leggie should never in the slog overs.should've finished it off earlier.also why isnt he using Yusuf?isnt hi bowling the reason hes picked ahead of Raina
