Zero_Unit Posted March 3, 2011 Posted March 3, 2011 you know whats crazy? After taking a wicket Afridi points his fingers up and and stands and STICKS his A** out and the camera man thinks its cool to video that sh*t from behind and show it live ... I think for this reason i will stop watching PAk's match from now on -_-
coffee_rules Posted March 3, 2011 Posted March 3, 2011 ^xoom.com should go for Afridi as a spokesperson.
Lord Posted March 4, 2011 Posted March 4, 2011 yesterday wen Pakistan were 83-4,the scorecared read Pakistan 83-4 Canada need 84 runs to win in 50 overs at 1.68 rpo:giggle:
Lord Posted March 4, 2011 Posted March 4, 2011 We remember every world cup for not just the cricketing action, but even the off field antics, funny comments, celebrations and foot in mouth statements by players & coaches. This thread is a compilation of all such moments for the 2011 ICC WC. Add anything that you find funny, odd or out of place in this WC. Here is what I think stood out so far, for completely the wrong reasons, 1) Ashraful's dance after dismissing Irish batsmen. GfPIPedD1OQ He outdid Jeetendra at the Jeetendra jumping jack dance. 2) Marketing strategy of the year: Amul are the sponsors of the Dutch team I get it now, most Dutch people are glued to their television sets watching the WC and will end up buying Amul products. 3) Retarded format: Which moron has made this format? Which bozo approved of it? We had two matches on Friday and will have two tomorrow ( Monday) but only one game each on Saturday and a Sunday. And this repeats again after 2 weeks. :whack::wall: 4) Athar Ali Khan's comment thats a contender for the hyperbole of the year award " This is the best day of my life. This is the best day for Bangladesh. I'm so ecstatic that I'm at a loss for words" After hearing this you might think that Bangladesh have won the ICC WC, the football WC and a few noble prizes on the same day. In reality, he said this after Bangladesh beat cricket superpower Ireland. 5) Bangalore public going namma namma every time KP hit a chouka holding up the 4 placards and dancing. Whats up with that? Ultimate confusion? 6) Nikhil Chopra and Vivek's Hindi commentary. You just can't get cheesier and cornier than this; " Sachin England ke bowlers ke saath khel nahi raha hain, khilwad kar rahe hain" repeat 10x " England ke coach ka naam Flower zaroor hai, lekin abhi ye murjhaye hue phool lag rahe hain" " Ian Bell, jaise unka naam hai, unhone ghanti baja di hai" " Ian Bell ne khatre ki ghanti baja di" after Bell hit a 4. " Indian team ek runno ka rath hai aur Sachin is team ke rathi hain aur Virat aur Sehwag ghode" SPCA should object to this. :P Saw just half an hour of the West Indies vs The Netherlands game. The Hindi commentators came up with some real gems today: When Suleiman Benn took his first wicket, one of the commentators started singing " Suleiman Benn gaya gentleman, Suleiman Benn gaya gentleman" . Corny lame joke, if I ever saw one. And he kept repeating it ad nauseam. Enter Ryan Ten Doeschate. I am no authority on pronunciation of Dutch names, but I'm not sure it is pronounced the way Nikhil Chopra says its. Dus Khata. Dus as in the number 10 Khata as in account (In Hindi) He kept saying ten dus khata yeh, ten dus khata woh and got so confused that he eventually ended up saying "dus ten khata aaj apne shots nahi khel pa rahe hain". And he kept repeating dus ten khata till he was cut by the other commentator. :D They guys are hilarious. Mind you this was just in 30 mins of the game. If you listen to them for an entire game, you could make the longest thread in ICF history. I'm going to watch games with Hindi commentary only. :P :hysterical::hysterical::hysterical::hysterical::hysterical:

Bradman99 Posted March 4, 2011 Posted March 4, 2011 How about the Paki dude saying Warne should be hanged.
gaurav92 Posted March 4, 2011 Posted March 4, 2011 Ravi gets excited when he sees any innovative stroke. When Bell played the paddle scoop, as expected : Ravi : "In the slot, and with fine leg up in the ring, easy put away. He knew exactly what he was doing there ? - Of course he would know what he was doing, WTF is wrong with him :WTF: When Collingwood hit a six(I don't remember the game) in 07 WC : Ravi : "Meaty blow! Collingwood launches into that one, and it sails over the ropes. This was a massive hit from a dangerous player" - The fact was that the ball barely went 6 rows back into the shortest Boundary, and he had to STFU when the six read just 74 meters :cantstop:
Mariyam Posted March 4, 2011 Author Posted March 4, 2011 Arun Lal left every one is a state of when he said: " Aur ye gend ek tippa khate hue boundary line ke baahar. ( dramatic pause) . 6 runs " Just before the 1999 WC final, Tony Grieg asked Rameez Raja: TG: How does Pakistan get so many youngsters in the team? RR: The youngsters are very young. The grounded in reality comment of the WC award goes to Ravi Shastri when during the England Netherlands game, he kept repeating: " Terrific crowd, great atmosphere " inspite of it being a near empty stadium.
Zelig Posted March 4, 2011 Posted March 4, 2011 Did anyone see Baby Lara climbing over Pollard in today's match:haha:

ludhianvi Posted March 5, 2011 Posted March 5, 2011 Shoaib Akhtar has the fastest delivery that he bowled imprinted on the flaps of his shoes. IIRC, it was 100.6mph. Correct me if you may wrt to the speed as it's off the top of my head. LOL @ the xoom one..good one
vvvslaxman Posted March 5, 2011 Posted March 5, 2011 ^xoom.com should go for Afridi as a spokesperson. You know he did that after he took 5th wicket against canada. Everyone was going to congradulate the Wahab. This guy was all alone doing this :cantstop:
