Then Ind have to change its bowling combination too because by playing Raina, you miss out on Pathan's overs. Bhajji (specialist spinner) and the two part-timers in Yuvi and Pathan (Don't know if it is wise to say Yuvi a part-timer anymore) give Ind a possible 25-30 (if required) overs of spin. One has to look at the overall combination both in terms of batting and bowling before making any changes.

This one again shows why Raina is important in the playing lineup. We have one too many bastmen who can graft/build the innings. If out top three batsmen fires ,as it happens most of the time, we dont have a solid hittler at the lower order to finish the game. Yuvi needs time to settle these days and same is true for Kohli too , less said better about Dhoni and yusuf is lottery which don't come off often and we end up choking whenever our top order scores majoity of the runs. We need to bring back Raina at the cost of Kohli/pathan as Yuvi can do the same job at #4 if out top order collapses and Dhoni is best at #5 with his tuk, tuk batting. If our top order succeeds, then we can promote Raina at#5 and Pathan at#6.

With Gambhir at #3..Kohli is a waste of space. We don't need to 2 Gambhirs or 2 Kohlis in the team..Get Raina and Pathan. Drop Kohli who is useless down the order. Unless a early wicket falls, we won;t need Kohli. Raina is a proven finisher.

dont think there is anything special in Yusuf's bowling.Raina can bowl as well n has that pause in his bowling he can use. he MUST come in for Yusuf for WI game

Its is clearly between Pathan and Raina now. Not much to chose but I will say Raina will come off way more often than Pathan but he is less deadly and powerful than Pathan. So its a chocie Dhoni have to make. I will edge Raina slightly but we shouldnt just launch him in knockouts. If Raina has to feature in the scheme of things, he must get a game against windies.

Why not borrow a cloning machine and have 11 Raina's batting, bowling, fielding and captaining India. C'mon dude. You are one of the better users here, who doesn't react much to any "sudden" changes.

Drop Kohli and bring in Raina. and its time, this bigger Pathan starts showing some consistency. Kohli scores when there is no pressure at all or ample time to bat. Put some pressure or quick runs required and he crumbles. India doesn't have a finisher at all now.
