You can write whatever you want. No, its authentic. I heard the audio of this interview. He did name those three players. But see what he says in the next question I don't like comparing big cricketers from different eras. When you play in a particular era, you play and perform against what you come up against and you do what is necessary in that particular era. I was asked recently to compare two bowlers – two great leg spinners as far as I’m concerned – Shane Warne and Abdul Qadir. :hysterical: I think they are the two best leg spinners I have ever seen. But Abdul Qadir did not play in the modern time. He says he cannot compare batsman of different eras, then how can he compare Sehwag and Zaheer Abbas? I think he is being kind to the nationality of the interviewer. We shouldnt read too much into the interview.

What was the context of Mikey's take Sehwag? What was the question asked to which he replied what has been wrtitten in the article about Holding's view on Sehwag?

akshayxyz Posted March 11, 2011 Posted March 11, 2011 By saying that he would not have given Sehwag enough room - he is undermining collective intelligence and skills of whole bunch of modern bowlers, coaches, teams, strategists combined. Today with all the detailed video reviews analysis, experiments and stuff - all bowlers/teams by now would have known the so called glaring weaknesses of Sehwag. So, if Sehwag still scores at 50+ avg @80+ Strike rate, then its not Sehwag's technique's problem - its bowlers. IMO -(theoretically)- Modern Sehwag would have thrashed these oldies equally badly if not more.

Holding is entitled to his opinion just like you and me, as far as I can remember he is also very balance when commentating. Just because you don't agree with him/someone there is no reason to attack the man's intent or character. Present your views as to why you think he is wrong and move on like mature and intelligent cricket fan. After all this forum is about cricket, majority of people who are members want have genuine cricket discussion, you cannot have discussion/debates if everyone agreed on everything. The acceptance of difference of opinion makes a forum/discussion that much intriguing and intresting for members and also nonmembers.

I do not think not many people claimed/said he is a moron ..( some did). e.g. I said - in this context - why his p.o.v. is not balanced, and can lead to certain other not-so-logical (hard to digest) inferences. On a side note - how many times have you observed perfectly logical/civilized debates ;). Such is the nature of most of discussions :).

Except the argument is held to please the interviewer ( or "journo" ). He talks about eras, then pick the boss - Tendulkar. The interviewer question specifically named Sehwag and asked MH how he would have bowled to him.

His average outside Pakistan was 45-46 only, being in 30's in both Australia and WI.
