ganeshran Posted April 3, 2011 Posted April 3, 2011 Am I missing something here? I have seen sticky threads on Pakistani forums congratulating India saying you are worthy champions. I have seen threads praising Dhoni for leading from the front. I have seen thread saying Tendulkar richly deserved this wc. I have seen greatest Pakistani cricketer ever heaping praise on Dhoni before and after the semi final. Yes majority of Pak fans wanted Ind to lose but if roles were reversed don't tell me Indians would have been rooting for Pakistan. Yes there is banter between us hence terms rock stars and retards.I don't see people calling others doll scroungers and terrorists on Pakistani forums. As for Indian bowling not just us many experts said it was relatively weak.Credit to them for three top performances. This is what sport is about proving doubters wrong. Pick on negatives but don't overlook positives.Balanced approach is the way forward. Yes but a lot of fans (and analysts ) are trying to downplay the victory by suggesting fixing, without having any proper proof. Ironically they are very ones who demand proof when allegations of spot fixing come up against Pakistani players. I would certainly have not rooted for Pakistan if they reached the final, but I would also not claim a conspiracy theory in case they won the cup
Pak_Forever Posted April 3, 2011 Posted April 3, 2011 Which Pakistani fans you guys are talking about? There might be few and yes almost everyone doesn't like losing against India, but we ain't sore losers. Our fans and media has been nice towards our players...no bisti of players like Indian media and fans. Most of the sensible cricket pundits of Pakistan are congratulating India, padosi forums are filled with praises and people are actually congratulating and confessing India was a better team and won. Their might be few sore losers and conspirator, but don't picture the whole thing with the same type of people....don't generalize. After quarters, cup was always between India and Pakistan, whoever had won the semi-final would have gone to win the cup and that's what exactly happened.
NareshK Posted April 3, 2011 Posted April 3, 2011 ^ Well' date=' for that particular forum, it is only appropriate that this pathetic, bitter low life is an administrator.[/quote'] That forum is as low as it gets. Its like holding a mirror to the mindset of the average Pakistani. Totally ignorant, delusional and bitter about India. :hehe:
Utalk Posted April 3, 2011 Posted April 3, 2011 Yes...I agree with you there.. Well we have had a fantastic run for last few years.. We keep winning everything and everywhere and they keep losing everything and everywhere.. LOL.. They are proper minnows now.. Reaching semis has been bit of a saving grace for them but won't last long... Proper minnows? World cup semi finalists. T20 WC semi finalists. Neat NZ away in test and ODI series couple of months ago. Drew last test series v Aus and SA. Won t20 world cup two years ago. Doing well for minnows.
ravishingravi Posted April 3, 2011 Posted April 3, 2011 Pak. posters on this thread, OP said many not all. So you don't have to be personally offended since you don't indulge in this. However, do not stay in denial that conspiracy theories and this constant victimhood has become a national pastime in Pakistan. Just check the news channels. Almost every effort is being made to find some moral high ground

ODIs and Tests are the real deal and the test series you drew against South Africa was not in their country. It was in Dubai if I remember correctly where the conditions favor your team more than them. So its not a big deal that you drew the series. About this World Cup, I admit you had a decent run but when was Pakistan ever challenged ? The first round was a mere formality and with 3 weak teams you were always going to qualify for the Quarter Finals. The only time you were put under pressure was against New Zealand and you lost miserably. You were thrashed once again in the Semi Finals. Again, you dont have to look too far to see how well your team has been performing of late. Just check the ICC rankings. :--D

If you guys are going to judge average Pakistani based on TV channels and media then I think I should do the same and judge Indians based on star news and India tv ignoring Indians I know personally and those who I work with.

The first effort is to always deflect blame rather than looking inwards. I think its a defence response to many problems plaguing the nation. Playing a victim of a stronger enemy (America, India, Israel) is always easier since it rids them of the need to do anything with the excuse that they are helpless.
ravishingravi Posted April 3, 2011 Posted April 3, 2011 ^It has unfortunately chrystallised as gene of Pakistan and to some extent Bangladesh. Maybe it is true for all weaker sections I don't know. But this constant talk about BCCI, ICC, IPL, India, RAW, Mossad has not allowed them to ask the fundamental questions. It has come to a point where they don't expect to present any evidence. Just 2 + 2 adds upto 5 if you can get 1 from your a@# which all I have been seeing Having said this most Pak poster on ICF are excellent and we have idiots on both sides Just to go give a classical egs :- A prominent journalist Abbasi was arguing against suspension for the cheats juxtaposing this incident with Tendulkar's "ball tampering". Another Mir was just week back mentioning about the anti aircraft deployed at Mohali, questioning its purpose and if India has threat of terrorist attack why is there WC in India and not Pak.
Ram Posted April 3, 2011 Posted April 3, 2011 I bet they cannot stand whats going on. Beneath the facade of fake congratulations and camerarderie for the neighboring country, coming from no less than someone like their captain, they must be absolutely burning on the inside.
Pak_Forever Posted April 3, 2011 Posted April 3, 2011 No! Majority are fine, but yes few can't take the loss...but majority wins (democracy) :--D bw why can't a thread on Pakistan go by without mentioning system, Israel, America etc etc. We all have our problems and weaknesses, no need to pick and choose.

Beneath the facade of fake congratulations and camerarderie for the neighboring country' date=' coming from no less than someone like their captain, they must be absolutely burning on the inside.[/quote'] That is pretty much obvious. I think most of the Indians would have felt the same had Pakistan won the WC and we had been defeated by them in the semis.
Rajiv Posted April 3, 2011 Posted April 3, 2011 Gentlemen, I assume some of you have been visiting other forums to see the reaction. While its tempting to do so, why do we care? Show your class, we've seen this low class sect of people since 2004 and trust me - just don't bother. You are free to talk what their players said and our ICF policy is not to show what others feel We are Indians, we are World Champs - enough of them to take all those jokers Let them sulk, thats their job
