ravishingravi Posted April 4, 2011 Posted April 4, 2011 It was utterly painful how after every second ball camera focussed on some Page 3 celeb or Bolly star. That may also be because there weren't many tickets sold to common man. Common man, you know the one who or whose parents work their ass@# of, stand in queue for hours under the hot sun, watch the match and follow our team in almost subhuman conditions in the Indian grounds. Yes that one. I am just sick of watching every celeb trying to get his 15 minutes in this moment of joy. Might I remind Politicians are not far behind. As I type there is show on NDTV "Now to talk to us about Indian win we have Ranbir Kapoor" S#$% it
DomainK Posted April 4, 2011 Posted April 4, 2011 On the contrary, I think star cricket did a good job of avoiding that. You have no idea how many mid to small size celebrities were present there for the final.

DomainK Posted April 4, 2011 Posted April 4, 2011 BTW anyone else thinks that Aamir Khan was acting most of the time?
Sir john Posted April 4, 2011 Posted April 4, 2011 BTW anyone else thinks that Aamir Khan was acting most of the time? i think he want to promote his new look.:--D
ravishingravi Posted April 4, 2011 Author Posted April 4, 2011 jealousy ? talk about missing the freaking point
Sachin=GOD Posted April 4, 2011 Posted April 4, 2011 Completely sick of these people being shown on the camera again and again and again during the match. For God's sake its a cricket match, show the cricketers not the actors, politicians, businessmen etc. I think they should show also ads of cricketers during the movies after every 5 minutes in the picture halls - har paanch minute mein Dhoni, Bhajji, Yuvi ,Zak etc ko dikhao film ke beech mein tab pata chalega in logon ko ki kitna irritating lagta hai :wall:
Andy Posted April 4, 2011 Posted April 4, 2011 BTW anyone else thinks that Aamir Khan was acting most of the time? Meh, He is a proffesional, so quite expected of him.
Asoka Posted April 4, 2011 Posted April 4, 2011 Exactly my thoughts. Watching these overrated,characterless,film/pornstars once every 5 min makes me:sick:
Dark Warrior Posted April 4, 2011 Posted April 4, 2011 BTW anyone else thinks that Aamir Khan was acting most of the time? +100000000
straight.drive Posted April 4, 2011 Posted April 4, 2011 Exactly my thoughts. Watching these overrated' date='characterless,film/pornstars once every 5 min makes me:sick:[/quote'] :two_thumbs_up: And add to that the fact, these film stars(or most of them) are nothing more than parasites living off the fame, influence and wealth of their parents/close relatives.
Clarke Posted April 4, 2011 Posted April 4, 2011 Two things that most of us hate about Bollywood & particularly Indian Politics: they function like a medieval feudal system with so many sons & daughters in the fray & the VIP culture when it comes to Politicians. The filth was visible post 26/11 as well, when a local politician invited some bollywood personalities to the scene so as to 'inspire' a movie while suggesting that such minor events happen in some cities. Who are we to blame ? We as a people make these superstars into powerful millionaires. We vote the corrupt politicians to power. Unless a significant number of us question the status quo, there will be no change.
Mariyam Posted April 4, 2011 Posted April 4, 2011 Some of the views on this thread are shocking, to say the least. Exactly my thoughts. Watching these overrated' date='[b']characterless,film/pornstars once every 5 min makes me:sick: Pornstars? Really? Thats a pretty serious allegation. And if it makes you so sick, alternate between Aastha or some other 'spiritual' channel for the duration of the ads. :P Pir Asoka, don't mean to irk you, but I don't understand the source of your misplaced anger. :icflove: :two_thumbs_up: And add to that the fact, these film stars(or most of them) are nothing more than parasites living off the fame, influence and wealth of their parents/close relatives. Generalizing, are we? Even if what you say is true ( which it is not, btw) , how does this relate to the OP's point? And people who inherit wealth shouldn't be highlighted by the media? What are you even getting at? The issue here is the channels showing Aamir Khan or Rajnibot every 5 minutes. Whom should we blame? The channel or the actors? Did the actors pay them for that? Highly unlikely. If the broadcaster thinks that showing an actor would please the general public more, it is how the broadcaster understands his audience. What he choses to show for a few seconds before the ads is what he thinks will get his channel more TRPs. Not one post blaming ESPN/ Star combine but people being judgmental and calling actors pornstars and parasites and what not. And to think we just won a world cup. Do we always have to be upset with someone/ something?
Cricketics Posted April 4, 2011 Posted April 4, 2011 The real real passionate bollywod actor who i have seen regularly and has good knowledge is Sunil Shetty. I remember his intereviews back in 2003 WC. He has real good knowledge of the game. So does Ranbir Kapoor and Safi Ali Khan. Well Saif ALI Khan is a given, since he is son of former Indian captain.
Mariyam Posted April 4, 2011 Posted April 4, 2011 A few weeks ago, on the "Police lathi charge protesters" thread, the poster 'nballa' had a very caustic remark: " The people deserve it. Who told them to be engineers and doctors. They should have aspired to be politicians and actors" Joke. On topic PJ, How did Indian achieve the impossible by winning the world cup? Anhoni ko honi kar dw, honi ko anhoni. Ek jagah jab jama ho teenon. Rajni, Ghajni aur Dhoni.

But Tics, even thats not the point. I don't have much knowledge about the game. I don't know all this off side, leg drive etc etc business properly. But does that mean I feel any less proud or my tears are any lesser than someone who knows the game inside out? Absolutely not.
