desi pride 1234 Posted April 23, 2011 Author Posted April 23, 2011 he clocked 148. i am impressed with this kid.
asterix Posted April 23, 2011 Posted April 23, 2011 I happy with his first outing. No matter what the naysayers say, I'll hope that he developes into a very good bowler..
vvvslaxman Posted April 23, 2011 Posted April 23, 2011 aren't they the fastest available in india right now? that's the point.i think the claim of rkt.india was he was a slightly quciker than yadav. there is a difference between saying he reached 153 in india and saying he bowls 150 consitently.only the former claim was made. Referring to claims that were never made or rushing to conclusions judging based on an insufficient sample is not my cup of tea. You cannot possibly deny there was lot of hype around him purely based on that 153 kph. So my take on him will be pertaining to that. I am not making fun of his economy rate or anything. Heck all pacers went for runs here. But the hype was mainly created for his express pace.
Switchblade Posted April 23, 2011 Posted April 23, 2011 No one man but the there were claims he bowls around 150
retterimp Posted April 23, 2011 Posted April 23, 2011 speed was nothing special, infact disappointment considering how much hype was around him, thought he was 150k+ bowler but what i liked was the lengths he bowled at the end, right in the blockhole, if he can do that consistently at 140+, he will be a good prospect. good, but nothing special yet, many have come and gone in our country starved of genuine pacers...
vvvslaxman Posted April 23, 2011 Posted April 23, 2011 Anyway.. this is just my opinion. Your opinion might be different. I will be ready to eat humble pie when he really proves me wrong. But his performance was below my expectations. May be i was bought into hype.
Ram Posted April 23, 2011 Posted April 23, 2011 The good thing about him is that his action is pretty economical and easily reproduceable. He isnt like some of the other genuine quicks we have seen before - guys like Nantie Hayward - who have their arms and legs flailing all over the place and have VERY poor control. He seems to have EXCELLENT control over line (very few down the leg-side) and when it came to length, when he did err, it was on the full side than on the short side. I am encouraged.
ravishingravi Posted April 23, 2011 Posted April 23, 2011 Oops!!! My browser is showing threads from what is termed as green ghetto here as icf. Some hack job this is. A young 21 yr old bowling in his first ill match bowls only 148. Clearly we should be hard on him.
vipin Posted April 23, 2011 Posted April 23, 2011 Average Speed ~ 140.4 Km/hour Slowest Ball ~ 127.4 Fastest Ball ~ 147.6 %age of balls bowled above average speed ~ 59.6 %
NareshK Posted April 23, 2011 Posted April 23, 2011 He looks a very good prospect. I hope they prepare a slightly better wicket for fast bowling though. The wicket looks green but batting seems way too easy on the track. Under the conditions, he bowled superbly.
ViruRulez Posted April 23, 2011 Posted April 23, 2011 My opinion as I mentioned earlier is that he needs to be groomed and so does Yadav but he is no way special or something. He is just another bowler with some pace as of now but no way special. However, hope guys like him and Yadav are groomed to be made special in a few years.
gult Posted April 23, 2011 Posted April 23, 2011 Very very impressive.. Not easy to to well on such a flat track facing gilly and co. He has kept his cool and tried bowling full after the first over.
vvvslaxman Posted April 23, 2011 Posted April 23, 2011 I am happy to eat humble pie which is good for India. But with past experiences i am going to wait it out. If i am right we are looking for someone like Malinga, Brett Lee, Dale steyn who all have more things than just the pace. Is Aaron going to be anyone like them? At this point far from it.
Prakat Posted April 23, 2011 Posted April 23, 2011 Hit for a 4 and a 6 in his first two balls. That's enough to tell me he should burn his spikes and take up that Indian Bank job his dad has been applying for him. Sorry Varun. :finger: what a loser.

Why would you expect him to be someone like Malinga, Brett Lee when he is still so early in his career ? I think some people are excepting way too much and over criticizing him.
hari504504 Posted April 23, 2011 Posted April 23, 2011 Why would you expect him to be someone like Malinga' date=' Brett Lee when he is still so early in his career ?[/quote'] Lee and Malinga were still Lee and Malinga when they started off - much better in their youth without all those niggles and patchwork done over the years. Aaron will nvr be one of them - would pbly become a decent bowler by our standards

When you see a thread dedicated to him long before even we have a look in a real match situation you are bound to expect something different. The same can be applied host of Indian fast bowlers that open for different states. My contention is not that he won't become a great bowler. My contention is he is nothing special in comparison with other fast bowlers in Indian domestic cricket. I can say the same about Deepak chahar." He is only at the start of his career Give him some time" .... "Sandeep chawla.. only at the start of his career.." etc etc etc..
Holysmoke Posted April 23, 2011 Posted April 23, 2011 Dont worry guise, he has got a new mentor :two_thumbs_up:
