Alchemist Posted April 27, 2011 Posted April 27, 2011 Do you guys Imagine yourself playing cricket and play air cricket ? When ever I am eating an apple or an orange, I try to toss it in my hand like Shane warne or Anil kumble would do before they would bowl. Some times I try to imitate straight drive (Sachin) or square cut (Dravid) with ruler in my hand. The place where I work, there is hallway as long as a pitch and a little narrower. Every time I pass it, I go through a bowling action. One of these days somebody is going to see it :winky:. I have actually bowled with a scotch tape in that hall way :--D. Share your experiences.
Sidhoni Posted April 27, 2011 Posted April 27, 2011 yeah, i also do that ruler thing, even when there is a book in my hand, i treat it as a bat, and play shadow strokes. Its really fun :D
CoverDrive Posted April 27, 2011 Posted April 27, 2011 I think all of us have done this where we imagine bowling inswinging yorkers in air :)
b555 Posted April 27, 2011 Posted April 27, 2011 wats with this do u remember threads all around in the forum ?
Stuge Posted April 27, 2011 Posted April 27, 2011 you know why we all do this because we love cricket from the core :D Cricket is our religion not any human idol or baba .
ganeshran Posted April 27, 2011 Posted April 27, 2011 I am a world champion in Air Cricket right now :aha: :yay:
ganeshran Posted April 27, 2011 Posted April 27, 2011 Even Sach cant beat me in Air Cricket :proud: What about Dhoni :P
Sid Posted April 27, 2011 Posted April 27, 2011 What about Dhoni :P Oh........ I think I have hurt a fanboy :cantstop:
ganeshran Posted April 27, 2011 Posted April 27, 2011 Oh........ I think I have hurt a fanboy :cantstop: :cantstop: Sach is top scorer even in air cricket :aha:
The Outsider Posted April 27, 2011 Posted April 27, 2011 Nothing like imitating Warne's lumbering run up and action for an oldie like me.
Serani Posted April 27, 2011 Posted April 27, 2011 do it all the time, maybe looks a bit weird to other people
punjabi_khota Posted April 27, 2011 Posted April 27, 2011 ^ Yeah me too, all the frickin time...but its time to grow up I think :((. So theres this new french guy in our lab who used to work in singapore, and he told me that one of his Indian colleagues would do this crazy cricket action while walking next to him, and said "It looked so retarded". So I had to hide my emotions, and said " Yeah..I used to do that when I was 10" :dontknow: My fav these days is Brett Lee's action bowling a yorker..smoooth!
b555 Posted April 27, 2011 Posted April 27, 2011 i try playing the cover drive that sachin plays .. i imagine myself having an mrf bat and driving mcgrath.. ah!!!!
Khalpat Posted April 27, 2011 Posted April 27, 2011 I do something what Glenn Mcgrath used to do while returning back to his bowling markup, bowling a ball pitching at good length on offstump and moving slightly towards off, when my day is good its edge and gorn and if not then the baal will beat the batsman.
NareshK Posted April 27, 2011 Posted April 27, 2011 I just do a fast bowling action sometimes and I dont mimic any particular bowler. I think its good exercise for my arms. :weights:
vvvslaxman Posted April 27, 2011 Posted April 27, 2011 leg spin and medium pace. Batting wise my favorite shot is flick with exaggerated follow through.
Cricketics Posted April 27, 2011 Posted April 27, 2011 All the time. Though now I have learned to control. When I first came in U.S whenever I used to go to some grocery stores, I used to pick on apple or orange and starting throwing in the air to catch it. I had reached to an extent that the guy who was stocking fruits at that place, would try to say something to me rudely.. It's fun though always. Hard to control really..
Prakat Posted April 28, 2011 Posted April 28, 2011 inswinging yorkers in the office corridor all the time. :--D
