This provides a good indication of depth and strength of domestic cricket, and gems missed by national selectors. IPL is the only opportunity to see/judge the quality of domestic players against international players. Though not the only marker! ODI and T20s only. 1 Valhaty 2 Manish Pandey 3 Rayudu (cpt) 4 Mithun Manhas 5 Sunny Sohal 6 Yogesh Nagar 7 Rajat Bhatia 8 Iqba Abdulla 9 Rahul Sharma 10 Sreenath Aravind 11 Abu Nechim TBH the above XI do not look very threatening but would probably fair very well on slow domestic tracks but struggle overseas. It's shame how we have not witnessed some talented players, due to incoherent auction process and inflexible selection by teams...how did Yadav, Dinda, Salvi, & Aaron all end up at Delhi and yet none of them are regulars! disaster in my opinion. Same for how Mishra and Ojha at Deccan. And where is Kamran Khan and Chahar, or Pankaj Singh! shame how Pujara, Rahane, Mandeep Singh are wasted down the order. I guess that's the nature of IPL.

I feel sorry for Umesh Yadav, Dinda, Varun Aaron and Salvi, all in one team yet hardly get a game, whilst teams like Kochi and Punjab struggle field decent young fast bowlers. wasted opportunity in my opinion. I especially don't understand the benching of Varun Aaron after one game, where he was quite decent. considering the opposition scored 200 odd runs.

They have six Indian fast bowlers Dinda,Yadav,Aggy,Salvi, Varun, Pathan apart from Morkel , hopes and mcdonald. Many of these would have been in playing lineup has they been part of some other teams.
kubrickian Posted May 10, 2011 Posted May 10, 2011 Yeah there has to be some limit on the bowlers and batsmen a team can have. I also feel DC have too many bowlers in their lineup and not enough good batsmen.

Has been playing some day night club cricket in NCR these days. He had offers from some franchises but chse his home state franchise and now the poor guy won't even get paid much as he hasn't been named in the final 18!

He had offers from some franchises but chse his home state franchise and now the poor guy won't even get paid much as he hasn't been named in the final 18! Ridiculous from RR, the guy was awarded the rising star of the year for his Ranji exploits. His got good height and decent pace, even if the ball doesn't swing he was a handful in recent Ranji trophy alongside Pankaj Singh. Irony, the lead attacking pair of Ranji Championship team have not played a single game this season. It would be understandable if they played for Mumbai or Chennai, but RR have been crap for the last three seasons, so surely these guys would have warranted their place. Too many Aussies "experts" running RR imo. Also wasn't their a rule a team needs to select at least one or two under 21 players.

If these aussies ******s dont want him then he should be free to try out for other teams.we want to see young indian players with promise play in the IPL,not over the hill retired aussies.
