Gilchrist was a good puller of short pitch bowling.. But Pathan has his own ways of scoring which Gilchrist hasnt got.. Australia won a number test matches during those times because of some later innings blitzes from Gilly.. A run a ball century in 3rd/4th/5th day would win you test matches .. Yusuf is there for you if you want to test..If it is all about winning test matches, I would take yusuf as 7th batsman (Dhoni is already an established batsman to come ahead of YKP.) especially against the opponents with a number of spinners in the attack

He is not worst bowler in the world.. Check out his bowling performances in this years Ranji and Dilip matches.. He was winning matches for team with his bowling consistently..

Silva Posted June 20, 2011 Posted June 20, 2011 Rainas failed to pass double digits in 6 out of his last 8 innings. And the deliveries he's got out to weren't anything special either. I remember in the first test against south africa we needed a batsman to dig in a little bit and he just gift rapped his wicket in both the innings. And even if you look at some of his earlier innings in sri lanka his shot selection was very questionable. IMO he's not suited to test cricket. But I wouldn't be surprised if he scores a couple hundred in this series and gurante his selection ahead of Pujara rohit and rahane in the England series only to see him look completely hopeless against Tremlett and co. Indian selectors need to start getting serious and start seriously investing for future because the big 3 arn't going to be around forever.
