If Ishant could bulk up a bit more, he could easily be a consistent 90 mph+ bowler. But even with the 86-87mph speeds, he has been terrific to watch. Setting up batsmen, not losing his focus even when he hasn't rewards for good bowling..clear signs of a maturing fast bowler. Needs to carry on the good work, remain fit and keep on taking wickets. Another great thing that this spell will do is to put him in the ICC top 10 for test bowlers. he is number 11 right now and shuld move to number 9. We will have 3 Indian bowlers in the top 10, Zaheer at 5, Bhajji at 7/8 and Ishant at 9.

I think he can crank the pace up too like he did in IPL4..but bowling at that pace consistently in long spells and maintaining accuracy is not easy. He is focusing more accuracy 87 mph is 140K which is good as he is a all bowler especially in bouncy conditions. He will clock more in England where weather is good too in comparison to hot WI

Most definitely yes. Won't be a surprise to see him hit 90+ consistently with those sky speed guns. Even Wahab Riaz was shown to be hitting 93-94 mph in a t20 match last evening!!

Manoj: 33 Tests, 92 wickets; Venky: 33 Tests, 96 wickets; Zak: 33 Tests, 93 wickets; Ishant: 33 Tests, 102 wickets (and counting) Srinath: 33 tests, 114 wickets; Kapil: 33 tests, 131 wickets; This is wickets in 33 tests and that too just of Indian seamers. Can anyone give a list as 100 wickets and then post their number of matches? Do include bowlers of other nationality too. Top 20, and Zaheer, Ishant, Kapil, Srinath would do, if they aren't in the list.

At the start of the series, Ishant's bowling average was 35.98, now it is 32.60. A massive 3. point drop. If he continues like this, not long before he goes below 30 and then subsequently even lower.

Last WI test is also left...this series can be a real turn around for Ishant. He has already taken 16 wickets in this series in 2 tests.

Don't wanna jinx this, but I don't remember last time in Indian cricket we saw such a effective and sustained pace and bounce from a tall young fast bowler. What a moment!!! I mean look @ the number of times the WI batsmen got whacked on the helmets :woot:
