No . Because this Indian Team GAVE UP yesterday before Tea. If they had any fight in them , don't you think they would have displayed it on the Field ? If we had any fight left in us , Maybe we would have just tried a little bit to restrict the Flow of runs and not gifted 2-3 boundaires every over to Bresnan & Prior and made them look like Viv RIchards and Brian Lara ?

It is strange , i feel that we were not bothered about the boundaries and were not even trying to stop it or restrict the flow of runs. Why is that ?! Our bowling can't be so poor as to give 2-3 every over. Something has gone seriously wrong with the Team's mindset. unfortunately i don't think anybody will ask the tough questions from this team. they seem to have carelessly given up & this happened before the Tea session yesterday. This has been one of our worst 2nd innings bowling performance since Karachi 2005-06. And that was a Flat Wicket (even though Mohd Asif did manage to run through our batting ).

The fielding from ball one in this series has been shocking, don't expect it to get better. This is one area I haven't liked Dhoni's opinion. Often he has said this is the best fielding we can ever do and whatever we do we can't improve which is outright wrong. This sends wrong message to the team that they can take fielding easy. Rather he can demand heck a lot more and ask the likes of Zak, Yuvi to shape up. It is very important to be fit and be able to stop straight forward ones. It's a shame to see the fielders not even attempting to bend down to stop the ball. Catching though has been good from India, this is the only area India have outplayed England.

Maybe India underestimated England heavily? England has been bloody good and have pretty much dominated the test series barring couple of session or three at the most. It pains to say SL were a better team than India. SL lost just one test match only owing to one bad session in the first test match otherwise they matched England consistently through out including ODIs.

I think there is a bit of that, more so on the part of the board rather than the players. The very poor prep for the series smacks of arrogance. They assume India can trot up to an away series with several key players not played much cricket, others- pace bowlers having played quite a lot and coming stright off another away tour- and win. In the past it has taken a monumental effort from our genii to string wins after being hammered in test 1 (with that effectively being a practice match) now however age, and a very good Eng side has caught up with them. Hopefully lesson learned. I blame utterly incompetent scheduling and preparation for such an important series.

Not so sure about Zak but Bhajji certainly need to go. His contribution with the ball is getting worse by the day. His batting has improved immensely though, perhaps too much focus on batting has let his bowling down. Wonder how much they practice right now? The recent bull **** about managing bowling work load must not be allowing the bowlers to bowl enough in the trainings.

India should have had two warm up games and then should have played 4 test matches in a row. What's the point of an additional warm up game after India loses two test matches in a row. I know I'm speaking with hindsight but it's common sense to have two warm up back to back particularly with several of the players missing out WI series.

Are you sure? You don't trust our batting it looks like. There's only another couple of overs before lunch. That will leave India to last 3 hours if we go by your prediction. I think India can last longer than that.

^ Well in actual fact- and again in hindsight- the tour match vs Northants will be a welcome outing for Zaheer and maybe ...JUST MAYBE... Sehwag to get some time in the middle, not to mention Gambhir and Tendulkar could use some runs under their belts. What Is true is that another match prior to the series should have been scheduled and there should have been a longer break between the IPL and WI and then WI and Eng, to allow a break between those and give guys like Sehwag recovery time. Ideally Sehwag would have been operated on straight after the WC. Eng series should have been a 3 test series even. And WI tour could have had no ODIs say to shorten it. All that is asking for too much from a money driven board

It's the same captain, same bowlers - zak, same batsmen - sehwag but we suddenly play like a 3rd rate team and can't even compete. Only thing that has changed in the recent past is the coach. Is Fletcher responsible for any this? What is he doing other than munching samosas? He has been there for only 5 tests now, so it might be unfair, but I'm not satisfied with our performance in the last 3. I may be grasping for straws, but our sudden listlessness in the middle is unsettling and inexplicable. It's one thing to lose a test match after playing competitively, but it's another to meekly surrender. Some one's head should roll to pay for it. Hopefully, we'll hit a brief rock bottom in this series and will bounce back after a full house cleanup.

This batting reminds me the series(1990?) when gooch got 333 n 123 in the secong innings, it was such a BATTERING,smith hit a hundered and i remember the cricketer magazine saying the way smith batted sorry mauled our bowling he could have done it with a chair leg!! I really thought after 2001 we would never ever suffer like that again,this test match was like the bad old days,where our bowlers are so demoralised the lower order batsmen start spanking us like little schoolboys with shorts down!!!! I think the cricket team gives us pride and being number 1 soimportant to us,the youth and us who have seen the lows of indian cricket,we know the history,getting to number 1 is hard,staying there is harder,england prepared for this series,WE DIDNT!!!! It seems that money is what drives the board and what seems to be driving the players, test cricket is the ultimate,it should be the be all for the players,maybe losing will cause so much shame the board will be shamed in to giving more importance to testmatches, i e more warm up games,players being monitored for fitness levels,making sure they stay fit even when not playing, lets not just be the richest cricket board but the most proffesional board too!! SORT IT OUT!!!!!!!!!
