Sooda Posted August 5, 2011 Posted August 5, 2011 Dravid, Tendulkar, Sehwag, Laxman, MSD ...discuss....
Jayaram_IND Posted August 5, 2011 Posted August 5, 2011 I dont know how effective sehwag is as a middle order bat
Guest Gunner Posted August 5, 2011 Posted August 5, 2011 Dravid, Tendulkar, Sehwag, Laxman, MSD ...discuss.... Agreed. Correct batting order. Takes out a very large weakness at No.6
NareshK Posted August 5, 2011 Posted August 5, 2011 There's no way they are going to change Gambhir-Sehwag opening pair. They have done so well for India for so many years. Mukund may play at 6 ahead of Raina.
kabira Posted August 5, 2011 Posted August 5, 2011 I like it. Sehwag can handle new ball later..we need opener there as well way things are going.
punjabi_khota Posted August 5, 2011 Posted August 5, 2011 :fail: Raina has to play. 25 times the batsman Mukund is.
Temujin Khaghan Posted August 5, 2011 Posted August 5, 2011 :fail: Raina has to play. 25 times the batsman Mukund is. it was 37 in my calculation :P
Jayaram_IND Posted August 5, 2011 Posted August 5, 2011 Feel sehwag offers left right opening combination.
goose Posted August 5, 2011 Posted August 5, 2011 On reflection, Sehwag has to open. That's where he, along with Gambhir, does his thing. If he comes off the whole side will feel taller. I say go with our settled line-up with Raina and Mukund fighting it out for No.6
yoda Posted August 5, 2011 Posted August 5, 2011 Are you guys insane to suggest that we move Sehwag out of the opening slot?
vvvslaxman Posted August 5, 2011 Posted August 5, 2011 Mukund hasn't done much at the highest level. He has a bright future. He is nowhere close to filling Viru's shoes. Viru, Gauti both are capable of producing marathon knocks in Tests. Mukund is more 40, 50 guy at best. Sure he has a bright future as he consistently shows some improvement.
Sooda Posted August 5, 2011 Author Posted August 5, 2011 Not insane. Sehwag is getitng older now and he will be more effective in the middle order where the ball is not so fast and swinging. Particularly versus a strong pace attack overseas. In any case he has said that he would like to play in the middle order at some point. And this might be a good time with him just coming back from injury. I think Sehwag in the middle order is definitely the way to go sooner rather than later Might be a bit harsh on Raina but he has seemed just as bad as Mukund. If Muklund can curb that instinct to flail outside his offstump, all he needs to do is hang around as long as possible and help lay a platform for the lower order in effect
zubinpepsi Posted August 5, 2011 Posted August 5, 2011 anychance of MSD thrown out of the team..? looks like he cant buy a run to save his life.. how about this viru, gauti, dravid(/laxman),srt,laxman(/dravid),mukund,raina ?? and dravid is the wk..

zubinpepsi Posted August 5, 2011 Posted August 5, 2011 Not a good idea to make your No 3 a keeper well he can come at no.5 and lax at no.3
