RP Singh to replace Zaheer

Needs to be shown the door instead of being persisted with. I remeber during 07 tour to Saf, Irfan Pathan was sent back home in the middle of tour. We need to do this with Zaheer. Guy can't survive for 1 session, not even till drinks break. And gets picked now in ODI squad. let me say - in before we hear the news that Zak hasn't recoved from his injury and is being replaced with another bowler for the odi series. I would rather have one of the following Sumit Narwal - A name not many have noticed or heard. He quietly gets the job done. Hasn't taken 5fers, but has been really good for Delhi. Varun Aaron - Hasn't done anything great. But I think this dude looks to have something in him. Makes me think he is going to be there in the team when we defend our world cup down under. Sudeep Tyagi - Not given proper chance before world cup. Well. OkAY understandable. We had to try lot of things in least amount of time since world cup was around. Now it's over. Time to try him again. He's definitely one of the best in India. Pawan Suyal. R.p Singh..

varun aaron has done well in one day domestics. He has an average of 17 and SR of 22 after 11 ODD matches. He has not done that well in FC matches but he is very young and is one of the best finds India have in years in terms of genuine fast bowling. Sudeep Tyagi is the best fast bowler in domestic right now. he could only play 3 FC matches last season due to injury which he developed while batting, but in these 3 FC matches he picked 18 wickets at an average of 14 and SR of 26 with 3 5-wicket hauls and was instrumental in UP's win. he is more suite to test cricket IMO. he is tall, gets bounce, and can move the ball in and out both. Pawan Suyal, i have not seen him bowl, but he has something in him that is why Mumbai Indians picked him for 2 consecutive years in their main IPL squad. He took a hattrick last season in ranji trophy.

what a joke-****ing cheeka needs to grow a backbone and drop players who cannot maintain proper fitness.
This selection committee must be sacked as soon as possible. Very soon, they will make our cricket team a past tense. Vengsarkar was better.

It's time when Zaheer assesses his fitness and career. There is no need to play anything randomly. He should consider retirement from tests or ODI. ODIs would be better for him. I doubt that he can prolong his test career. He will get ample time to recover and focus on shorter version of the game. If he wants to continue with tests only, then it will be very difficult and require hard work from him.

on the ground when he is playing' date=' not when he is out due to some injury.[/quote'] Agreed. It's no use being the leader of the attack if you spend most of the time on the bench. I think we should have him around till the end of the Australia tour. So I'd rest him from the home ODIs against England and WI. After that, he has to take a call on which format to play.

Varun Aaron hasn't done enough in domestic circuits for India selection. Moreover his atrocious fielding is a liability in shorter formats. I'd go for Dhaval Kulkarni or Pankaj Singh.

not sure if it is a good decision or not, he didn't look all that fit in the IPL, was bowling in low 130s. What are they waiting for to bring in Aaron or Yadav?

http://sports.ndtv.com/ind-eng-2011/news/item/176795-zaheer-ruled-out-of-england-tour-rp-singh-called-in says.. "Zaheer Khan is suffering from a recurrent right hamstring strain and a right ankle impingement. He will require a surgery for his ankle, followed by intensive rehabilitation for both the ankle and hamstring. He will need at least 14-16 weeks to recover completely. He will therefore not be able to participate in the ongoing Test series and subsequent T20 International and ODI series against England," BCCI said in a statement. Do you think this is the end of Zaheer?

RP's selection is good but realistically it is bit too late for him to join and play a test right-away. He'll be just another passenger. What's shocking is that team management took 2 weeks to assess nature of his injury when he'd have been straightway replaced after first test itself.

14-16 weeks. :omg: So the next series that he has any chance of playing is the tests in Australia. Again, he probably won't have any match practice. Sad for Zaheer since he has been so good for us but it might force the selectors to finally look beyond him. He isn't someone we can rely on anymore.
