Not really. I have almost watched every game in which he has played, and seriously the guy hasn't done much. I am not one of those who will create thread on particular player, but this dude hasn't been that impressive to get such a long run in our test line up.
Sooda Posted August 11, 2011 Author Posted August 11, 2011 Seems to be bolwing pretty slowly too from Cricinfos speedo. He's just ridiculously inconsistent. One good spell a series does not a test bowler make. Had an good outing last test so that is his series done.

Fontaine Posted August 11, 2011 Posted August 11, 2011 He bowled just a few overs yesterday and all day today his speed has been down to 77-79mph. You would think with reduced pace he would bowl with more control yet the opposite is true. Full and wide rubbish or legside trash. He's yet to bowl back to back overs on a good line around offstump with any decent swing. No stamina, no strength, no pace, no guile or consistency, just ordinary harmless trash with the few no balls thrown in between for good measure. He's like a dumber/uglier version of Mohammad Sami. But I'm sure he doesn't give a ****. He's got his music/poetry/dancing/acting to look forward to after this series.

Is it more the pitch being flat? Are defensive field placings not helping?? Are the batsmen simply excellent? In short- WTF is going wrong?

msb1991 Posted August 11, 2011 Posted August 11, 2011 I'm glad people are finally starting to understand that Sreesanth is not Test class. I know people like to use hunches rather than statistics but to expect Sreesanth to perform better for India than he has for Kerala (50 wickets at 30.96) over the long term really is pretty unreasonable. To expect him to perform better for India than he has for South Zone (21 wickets at 39.95) over the long term is also unreasonable. These numbers should scream out at the rational person but it would seem it takes a failure in a high profile series like this to drum the message into some of the thicker heads we have around.

Ishant and Sreesanth-Short and wide Mishra- No balls Kumar- Only bowler who is doing something.
