Trichromatic Posted August 31, 2011 Posted August 31, 2011 line up for 1st ODI 1st ODI line up Playing 11 fr the 1st ODI Indian selectors doing lot of work on ICF. :cantstop:
div Posted August 31, 2011 Posted August 31, 2011 I'm not that sure about Ashwin. The guy looked so unsure today. Bowled all over the place. So many wides. He was scared, looked sick and you could see it. Maybe Mishra instead of Ashwin for the 1st & 2nd ODIs. Mishra will bowl a lot of no balls

Mariyam Posted August 31, 2011 Posted August 31, 2011 There was dew on the ground' date='that didnt help.[/quote'] I will take your point if you can explain why none of the others bowled so many wides. Neither the English spinners nor our part time ones. It looked like Ashwin had a severe case of 'stage fright' today.

It looked like Ashwin had a severe case of 'stage fright' today. He did bowl better after 1st over. All those wide balls were the attempted carrom balls.

It looked like Ashwin had a severe case of 'stage fright' today. Because it gets difficult especially for a spinner to grip the ball when there is dew.Not trying to defend him,I agree he was off colour today but dew on the ground also played a big part. When English spinners were bowling there wasnt any dew. P.S:Not only talking about his wide balls, talking about his bowling today in general.,which got affected due to dew.
Deleted_User_1 Posted August 31, 2011 Posted August 31, 2011 Bhagwan bhi yeh team ko bacha nahin payega!
Dravid_TheWall Posted August 31, 2011 Posted August 31, 2011 I don't like Jaddu but he needs to be in the team. I don't have faith in this bowling attack in absence of Zak, Nehra, Bhajji and and even UV-all could keep it tight in limited format. So normally I like the no7 to be a batsmen but on this occasion a bowling all rounder. Jaddu may not take wickets but he will keep it reasonbly tight. Therefore my 11. Tendu, Rahana, Dravid, Kohli, Raina, MS, Jaddu, Ashwin, PK, Munaf, Aaron It's good because if Aaron can't bowl his quota at least Jaddu will. Always have Raina/Kohli for a few more instead of Aaron/Jaddu. There is enough quality in the batsmen to make do without R Sharma. Maybe rotate between Rohit and Dravid in the series.
maniac Posted August 31, 2011 Posted August 31, 2011 Rahane Tendulkar Kohli Dravid Sharma Dhoni Raina Ashwin PK Munaf :isalute: rkt Aaron () Pretty much agree but Jaddu for Ashwin. Forall the ridicule he gets here,I still think he is a decent LOI bowler. Also his role as a bowler is not too different from Ashwin as Ashwin is a containment bowler himself. As a batsman too he has shown a decent defensive technique in the past unfortunately at wrong times. We have made this guy a scapegoat for our overall failure in 2 worldcups where the problems were even deep-rooted like overall bowling, playing short pitch bowling, fielding etc.I am not supporting jadeja or neither am I saying he deserves a callup but all I am saying is he is a more decent player than he gets credit for.I would have him in my team over Vinay Kumar any day.
Trichromatic Posted August 31, 2011 Posted August 31, 2011 Rahane Tendulkar Kohli Dravid Sharma Dhoni Raina Ashwin PK Munaf :isalute: rkt Aaron () I was not wrong when few days ago I said that Munaf is our second best ODI bowler after Zaheer. :winky:
Cricket Tragic Posted August 31, 2011 Posted August 31, 2011 Munaf has been brilliant since the ODIs in SA. :isalute:
Trichromatic Posted August 31, 2011 Posted August 31, 2011 Munaf has been brilliant since the ODIs in SA. :isalute: His performances have been so much ignored in comparison to our batting superstars and annoying trundlers that I fear someday he will be punished for doing nothing or failures of other players.
Cricket Tragic Posted August 31, 2011 Posted August 31, 2011 Munaf in 2011 16 Matches 30 wickets Avg of 23
Sidhoni Posted September 1, 2011 Posted September 1, 2011 Parthiv Sachin Dravid Kohli Rahane Raina MSD Munaf PK Ashwin/Mishra RP/Aaron
