Are you sure? Did you watch him? He bowled with new ball and in some websites he is named as new ball bowler and some where written as off spinner. I remember even Umesh Yadav when he took 5-wickets in Duleep trophy in 2008 was written as left arm spinner in cricinfo.

Fantastic to see Tanmay batting well, he seemed like a great prospect a few years ago and then his form tailed off. Hope he builds on this and puts himself in contention for senior sides. We need young openers doing well.
