By the way the timeframe here, 2009, is the year in which Bihar recorded the fastest growth rate amongst Indian states. http://ibnlive.in.com/news/bihar-fastest-growing-state-cm-lauds-better-law-order/108181-3.html Does PC know his numbers, or is he one of those closet Southies who think they are inherently better than certain parts of the nation?? Idiot.
growth of resource exploitation industry just as minning etc is often a skewed indicator of growth. true, with its massive resources bihar might have grown at the fastest rate, but if you factor in other indices of growth such as cost of living index, quality of life, human resource infrastructure growth, undeniably bihar is far behind.

The mineral rich areas are now part of Jharkhand. You are quite right about the low indices of human development, hopefully they will keep moving upwards. xxxxxxx (just to confuse Ludh & Vibhash :giggle: )

After losing rich areas to Jharkhand, it had almost nothing other than old small-scale and medium scale industry which were on the verge of extinction. 80% of the population is still dependent on the agriculture. Growth is mainly due revival of those industries and services sector. From CPI-ML's site

Again' date=' a hint of success insinuating the method was correct. The education system of Southern states is hardly any better than rest of the nation. What is different is a mushrooming of colleges in technology that was basically built upon a "[i']donation college" mentality. Growing up it was considered an abuse if anyone said he was studying in South, simply because it meant a donation college. Of course I dont mean an Anna University, or REC Trichy here. What happened essentially is with the IT boom these colleges stepped up and suddenly became mainstream and respected. And voila you now have a winning strategy. Who cares what remains at the base of these institutions?
It did not have to be IT, it could have been any knowledge driven area. The emphasis on education (professional, in this case) is what i believe the key was, and its greater in our Southern states than the North. Do you agree ? I have the same POV on entrepreneurship, having seen fellow engineering graduates willing to move to the corners of Africa to help their relatives expand their business. Warriors like Adani will pursue all means to avoid the govt bureaucracy and will mine their coal in Australia, ship it to their port & transport it to their power plant using some of their rail lines. This guy must be a tea party icon. You should shed some more light on what went wrong in some of Northern India. How did the capital of the Mauryan empire lag behind almost every other state, until the last few years ? Is it the usual corruption=>unemployment+illiteracy<=>overpopulation=>poverty saga or there's more to it ? India unbound or otherwise ..

There is no such thing as Kannedda (Canada). Its the biggest con job of our times. Have you ever heard of anybody saying they support the Canadian cricket team? They all support India or Pakistan or West Indies or Kenya. Nobody ever supports Canada. eg: Ludhianvi, Rajeev, RahulRulezz,Celine Dion all support Indian cricket team. Have you ever heard of any Canadian? I haven't. They all are either Indians and other migrants or they are to be US citizens. Canada is not a country. It is a modern age substitute for Ellis Island. Everybody goes there with a view of eventually going to the US. Just a pits stop. And if you included UAE (West Kerala) in India, it wouldn't impact our growth rate positively. Those remittances wouldn't count then. :((
I would hate to move to US

BP sounding positively pakistani...:two_thumbs_up: between this thread and the love advice. all you need to do now is to post threads about Azhar being a great soul and phaast bowling.

Many Indians who have settled in Kaneda are very happy there, and dont want to move here to US either. So, I guess Kaneda works for many folks.

Its the result of the Martial culture that has been ingrained for the past so many centuries whenever invaders tried to attack. With that culture came pride. South did not have to face invasions , hence that culture is not prevalent there.
I think Kalarippayattu is the oldest martial art in the world.

Instead of telling former US ambassadors about how south + west is better and if it wasn't for north and east, we would be doing very well, he should be tackling the terrorism issue seriously.
