I don't think Steyn or Anderson are particularly amazing limited overs bowlers but some of Steyn's spells in the IPL. I think the difference between the 2 of them in tests is that Steyn has shown that he can rip through batting line-ups single-handedly while Anderson cannot do so as regularly. Also on a flat deck, Steyn can crank it up to 150 kph. Steyn is the better of the 2 but in my opinion Anderson has closed the gap in the last 18 months with his bowling exploits in Australia, the UAE and Sri Lanka. He is undoubtedly the number 2 bowler in the world in my eyes.
yess no 2 for sure but steyn is still class apart for the reasons u just stated also remember world cup? his 5 wicket haul against us anderson can never do tht in odis well who is the no 3 ? one of broad or morkel i guess B->

I think Morkel is number 3 based on the fact that he has been a more threatening bowler for a longer period of time but Broad's current form is better. Morkel seems to be in the Flintoff mode where he bowls brilliant spells but always beats the edge rather than takes wickets (maybe his length is a bit too short) while Broad has turned into a genuine wicket taker recently.

He didn't pick up many in his first 2 ODIS but I'm not sure which game you were watching. 3rd ODI 4th ODI 5th ODI All top order batsmen and not while they were slogging. Also, notice the speeds but sure don't get these facts in your way.
Actually the 152.5 ball was measured as 149.5 in indian channel, but yeah he bowled a few very quick deliveries.

I have fishy feeling Andy Flower is saving Finn to unleash him in India. And would put it past Finn to rip through our opening and middle order even on dead wickets.
he played in india, did well but did not rip through anything. India white washed Eng in ODI series.

Why wont I look at the facts.. I said I didnt remember properly .. You have provided facts.. I trust it. Thanks for the effort. However from those facts out of 7 wickets 3 were batsmen trying to hit out .. means taking a risk .. I know I used the wrong term in slogging but what I meant was a risk stroke. Plus I remember the Kohli wicket.. It was a real stupid thing to leave the ball so close. So there goes 4/7 of your facts.. about the speeds .. I accept that he was quick but certainly looking from bare eyes he looked slow.. Its like how Gul looks bowling in UAE even when the speeds show 140+. Can't help it. But I accept .. I was wrong. Thanks for your effort. Yet I will say he has not impressed me. Maybe if he does well this year in India' date=' I may change ma opinion. Fingers crossed he doesnot. Wont wanna see India at the receiving end.[/quote'] speed is basd on moment of release of ball from hand not at impact with bat. Steve was between 135 - 150 in india with a few 145+ deliveries.

lol if u watch them both bowl morkel is way ahead he isj sutn ot consistent enough right now ..loses his form and rhythm far to regularly for my liking broad needs to continue good form for some time now ...but over all if u consider is batting too he is very valuable

I know that .. I said that .. But some guys bring up Cricinfo stats and started asking what games I watch .. why bother arguing :--D

Yes' date=' I Saw the series. I know he was their best bowler. I wrote it. But the standards of bowling were so poor that he was the automatic choice to be their best bowler. He just bowled accurately but had no pace or movement. If I remember(Please correct me If I'm Wrong) [b']he bowled at about 130-135 and our VK was bowling at that speed. Plus he didnt get any movement that he gets in Ingerland and therefore in my view it was piss poor bowling from a guy rated that high when conditions were not in his favour.

Not only do you watch a different sport, you are a "Ghajini". It's time write down what you said on your body before that short-term memory loss starts creeping in.

I don't rate Pattinson highly. Cummins has got the results as of now, it will be interesting to see what happens when he's dropped - which will happen. The thing with Finn is that he understands his bowling quite well which is very important.

Cummins (not Cummings btw) looks good. To slot into such an important Test match (Australia were 1-0 down after being all out for 46 in the previous innings) and to make that impact was indeed noteworthy. However, I will reserve my judgments on him. Pattinson has just 1 game. If you bring him under the rod early enough, he will crumble. Not that he's bad, he's not just "that" good. Morkel (FFS I hope you're talking about Morne and not Albie) is a good bowler and will remain good unless he picks up his consistency. There's still some time for him, pretty young for now. If he's consistent he will be great. Early on in his playing days he wasn't a much with the bat but now he is just an ordinary No.10

ok @ name spelling :cantstop: well pattinson did well against nz and carried it on against us and he always looked like getting wickets still yes maybe u judge people better then me :P but cummins is def over rated fter 1 good performance i mean yes it was match winning stuff but see all the articles on him its just little frustrating and pattinson if he is jsut good in ur eyes i dont want to ask abt yadav :hysterical: cos pattinson is atleast right now much better then yadav morne morkel has potential to be one of the best he is def getting better against us atleast he bowled some times better then steyn w/o much reward but kind of bowling line up they have i dont think they care abt who picks the wickets sooner or later i think morkel will get the wickets and others would bowl those frustrating spells jsut dont go by his stats.. he has bowled some unbelievable spells like we all remember ishant vs ponting morkel can bowl slells like tht much more regularly i think this time vs england he will out perform steyn :--D

The length Pattinson bowls, he will always get wicket in test cricket with and he can crank up the pace at over 145K as well. According to me, he has the best bowling action of the three mentioned, perfect test match bowling action which he can repeat with consistency. Finn and Cummins have unpredictable actions and more rhythm bowler.
