gult Posted July 26, 2013 Posted July 26, 2013 The way I see it is' date=' everyone comes to Hyderabad to make money, and then all that money/resources goes back to Andhra instead of the Telangana region. Hence why people are asking for separation. Thus I support it.[/quote'] All the money and resources going to Andhra? Where is the proof? Who is responsible for it? Certainly not people from Coastal Andhra. They haven't had the power for so long IIRC. When YSR was in power, he spent so much many and efforts on improving his region. KCR couldn't do **** for telangana when he was a minister. That said, I support seperation of Telangana because the culture is a bit different from that of Coastal/Rayalaseema. The power hungry politicians and good for nothing professors have made Telangana people to not trust the people from rest of Andhra by propagating many lies. Whether hyderabad is IN or OUT of Andhra, Andhra has nothing to lose if telangana is formed. Politicians like Lagadapati etc.. might also have vested interest in United Andhra.
gult Posted July 26, 2013 Posted July 26, 2013 five-decade struggle of people of our region for separate state. All the students' date=' people who dedicated for this lets see if they have to wait again. For people wondering reasons for separate there many development, water resources although we water flows from telangana to Andhra no good dams in over region farmers cant do more than two crops I have seen this a lot. [b']90% jobs in the state secretariat held by Andhra people, land grabs by people from Andhra in Hyderabad, Job opportunities for educated youth in the region, less recognition for poets from telanagana and mocked by people for their language to name a few. Did Andhra people get them by illegal means?
cowboysfan Posted July 26, 2013 Posted July 26, 2013 what will happen to hyderabad if telangana is a state?
gattaca Posted July 26, 2013 Posted July 26, 2013 Did Andhra people get them by illegal means? which one you are asking about ? you seem to concentrate on lot of things.
Sachin=GOD Posted July 26, 2013 Posted July 26, 2013 ]congress will strech as long as it can. fools cant control their own mps. anyways congress will decimated in AP in 2014 at least in telangana. This is a gross tactic by congress hoping to get votes from telengana. I don't think they will do it quickly. Even the andra leaders will try to do politics as much they can to get another term. Politics aside, I believe Telengana should be saperated from Andra. The people have been supressed socially and politically. There has been a lot of bias. Having friends from both the regions, saperation will help both regions. If they could saperate a medium sized state like bihar, why not Andra? I think the decision will be announced within the next 10 days. About 10 days back there were credible media reports saying that a final decision on Telengana would be reached before the end of this month. The monsson session of parliament is starting from 5th August and most probably they will announce it before that.
Sachin=GOD Posted July 26, 2013 Posted July 26, 2013 what will happen to hyderabad if telangana is a state? I read some news reports saying that it might become a Union Territory for 10 years.
Muloghonto Posted July 26, 2013 Posted July 26, 2013 I dont get it. how is creating a landlocked state & a coastal state out of one coastal state going to help the landlocked portion economically ? I can see why coastal Andhra is significantly more affluent but how does cutting it out of AP help the interior region ?
gattaca Posted July 26, 2013 Posted July 26, 2013 ^^ state funds from center and treasury being effectively used to develop infrastructure now that you have only small area to concentrate roads for proper connectivity in rural areas, dams for better catchment area of water and people will have more jobs because of the new state and I am pretty sure the no of educated people in telangana are low compared to andhra so it will take sometime regarding improving educational facilities in rural areas . But there lot of complications on how treasury is split.
gattaca Posted July 26, 2013 Posted July 26, 2013 I read some news reports saying that it might become a Union Territory for 10 years. Thats what the governor of the state wants because he will rule it and mint money.
cowboysfan Posted July 26, 2013 Posted July 26, 2013 Thats what the governor of the state wants because he will rule it and mint money. it maybe more like delhi and pondicherry with some form of elections and government.
gattaca Posted July 26, 2013 Posted July 26, 2013 ^^ Below is what I got from wiki. This was my thought about union territory as well. But congress will give hyd to telangana most probably. A Union Territory, abbreviated to UT, is a type of administrative division in the Republic of India. Unlike states, which have their own elected governments, union territories are ruled directly by the union government, hence the name 'union territory'. The President of India appoints an administrator or lieutenant-governor for each UT.[1] There are seven union territories, including Delhi, the capital of India, and Chandigarh, the capital of both Haryana and Punjab.
Cricketics Posted July 26, 2013 Posted July 26, 2013 Don't give a damn. We all should just sit back and watch the show of some poor corrupted people want to gain power instead of getting worried about establishing a new state or not.
InjusticeServed Posted July 27, 2013 Posted July 27, 2013 Other large states like Maharashtra should also be partitioned or State Capital should be moved to center of region. Small states + 5 Zonal Prime Ministers + 1 Premier of Country = Best Administration.
randomGuy Posted July 27, 2013 Posted July 27, 2013 Other large states like Maharashtra should also be partitioned or State Capital should be moved to center of region. Small states + 5 Zonal Prime Ministers + 1 Premier of Country = Best Administration. 5 zonal PMs will make another hierarchical level which we don't need. Have between 40-50 states. That should be ideal. Breaking UP and Maharashtra in particular will be very useful.

kubrickian Posted July 27, 2013 Posted July 27, 2013 Just another instance of political parties using some sentimental issue(region, language, religion, caste etc) to divide people and gain votes and power. People are just stupid to fall for this time and again. What will come out of a separate Telangana state ? Nothing. Just more opportunities for crooks to earn more money.
The Outsider Posted July 27, 2013 Posted July 27, 2013 I dont get it. how is creating a landlocked state & a coastal state out of one coastal state going to help the landlocked portion economically ? The importance of land locked states is exaggerated compared to land locked countries, for whom a coastline is much more important.
BeautifulGame Posted July 27, 2013 Posted July 27, 2013 ^ Its not just Hyderabad alone.Coastal Andhra was the prime beneficiary of canal irrigation developed under reservoir systems built on Krishna and Godavari rivers. Now, Telangana will emerge as the upper riparian state seeking its rightful share in river waters .

Just was trying to point out what I perceive to be the most important factor.

The importance of land locked states is exaggerated compared to land locked countries, for whom a coastline is much more important.[/quote'] Hyderabad has developed in the recent past due to a large extent because of investment from Andhra NRIs. Also, Hyd became a IT city because of Chandrababu Naidu who is from Rayalaseema region. What did Telangana leaders do other than minting money and now blaming others for everything ? In any case, business people have already started investing in other cities like Vizag or Bangalore because they are not secure about their investments and lot of companies have moved out of Hyd already. Hyd will not develop much in the future. It will just be a dumping ground for people from villages and small towns of Telangana.
