King Tendulkar Posted November 5, 2011 Posted November 5, 2011 spinning, great track variety is the spice of life
NareshK Posted November 5, 2011 Posted November 5, 2011 Not much turn, no bounce and pretty slow and this is the first day. Add to that, the batsmen look like they got instructions from the coach that he would spank them if they scored runs. Pretty boring cricket IMO.
gakgupta Posted November 5, 2011 Posted November 5, 2011 pathetic.....how bad can it get.....dont feel like watching the match.......i was also seeing some domestic OZ match in star cricket and pitch is extremely good even though, it's a one day match....
gaurav92 Posted November 5, 2011 Posted November 5, 2011 Hate such tracks, but with India going strong, I wont complaint
zep1706 Posted November 5, 2011 Posted November 5, 2011 I hate Kotla, they have managed to build a fugly looking stadium and the pitch has always been an utter disgrace, so much for renovation !!
Pagalpanti Posted November 5, 2011 Posted November 5, 2011 Its 1st day so spinners will not get much assistance, this is a typical SC wicket. Wicket is decent, generally the bounce in India isn't that great anyway.
Trichromatic Posted November 5, 2011 Posted November 5, 2011 Are yaar....It's all fair....This is the right approach to regain no1.....Smash WI on turners,Give young fast bowlers enough exposure at test level and then go all out against Aussies, Our batting has enough experience to adjust from these pitches to Australia,So it's all good don't panic This is not a good track for spinners either. Not much turn, no bounce. If WI had some decent players of spin bowling, match would have been a low scoring-rate draw.

And you come to this conclusion by just 30 overs play on 1st day? :giggle: As I write this, one beats the bat and Dhoni collects it on his shoulder. Some unnecessary ranting going on, pitch is absolutely fine.

saneindian Posted November 6, 2011 Posted November 6, 2011 Wait for another couple of days before passing judgements. Yes it doesn't have much bounce or pacebut then no Kotla test wicket ever had those attributes. It will crumble and start doiing funny things from day 4 onwards. We did well to restrict WI to only 256 and take out their top order. Now need to restrict them to 350 and the test match is ours.
vvvslaxman Posted November 6, 2011 Posted November 6, 2011 Kotla pitch has been like this for a while. Remember Champions league.
Stuge Posted November 6, 2011 Author Posted November 6, 2011 Now the odd ball is keeping ultra low ..WTF
King Tendulkar Posted November 6, 2011 Posted November 6, 2011 Great track. Spinner getting 6 wickets. Love it
King Tendulkar Posted November 6, 2011 Posted November 6, 2011 What a great pitch. Thrill a minute. O wait sorry pitches that favour bowlers must only be for seamers not spinners!
Sid Posted November 7, 2011 Posted November 7, 2011 Really what an awful pitch.I hope Kotla is removed as a test centre for good.
Yoda-esque Posted November 7, 2011 Posted November 7, 2011 WI right at home on this pitch..Didnt they just tour BD ?:giggle:
Number Posted November 7, 2011 Posted November 7, 2011 Our batting was way more awful than this pitch.
Sid Posted November 7, 2011 Posted November 7, 2011 Our batting was much worse on better pitches in England. Our batting these days can be awful on any pitch :P But Kotla's pitch is just bad for test cricket.
