Sachin=GOD Posted November 5, 2011 Posted November 5, 2011 Legendary singer Bhupen Hazarika dead Noted singer, musician and lyricist Bhupen Hazarika died on Saturday at 85. He was hospitalised in Mumbai's Kokilaben Dhirubai Ambani Hospital in June after complaining of breathlessness owing to a chest infection. He was later admitted to the ICU, said doctors. Hazarika's health deteriorated after he developed pneumonia on October 23. He had to undergo a minor surgery, to attach a food pipe into his system. The legendary singer and composer, with his trademark deep baritone, has sung in many Indian languages, including Bengali, Hindi and his native language, Assamese. He was awarded the Padma Bhushan and the Dadasaheb Phalke award. On September 8, Hazarika celebrated his 85th birthday in hospital. Hindustan Times RIP (

Singers are perhaps the most blessed of the lot. Even after they are long gone, you can hear their voices..meri awaaz hi pehchaan hai...gar yaad rahe.
