deathmonger Posted April 8, 2012 Posted April 8, 2012 I know the pitch condition in WI and OZ are different . But Adelaide and Sydney are generally flat. It is embarassing to see the difference in performance of WI and Indian batsmen. Why have we become so bad ? Different weaknesses. WI are bad against spin, strong against pace. Look what happened to England in Asia. WI couldn't play against Ajmal/Ojha/Ashwin/elias sunny.

deathmonger Posted April 8, 2012 Posted April 8, 2012 And this WI team is batting power house. It is 7th ranked team .:(( against pace yes. don't pay too much heed to rankings. pak wer 6 i think when they 3-0d eng.
ganeshran Posted April 8, 2012 Author Posted April 8, 2012 the attitude of Windies tail towards batting is much better than ours. They seem prepared to grind it out in the middle compared to our lower order bats like Zaheer who seem to be in hurry to get out.

They seem prepared to grind it out in the middle compared to our lower order bats like Zaheer who seem to be in hurry to get out. Zaheer's batting performances in Aus were shameful to say the least. The guy didn't want to be in the middle and played like tailender of good old days. He simply backed away and tried to hit the ball, mostly managing to get out in a couple of deliveries without troubling the scorers too much.
Trichromatic Posted August 5, 2012 Posted August 5, 2012 No Indian batsman in top 10. SRT is at 11th. No code has to be inserted here. This is probably worst ranking for Indian batsmen in last 10 years or so. Only 1 batsman in top 20. Gautam Gambhir has been so badly out of form for 3 years that Mathews, Tamim are above him.

Based on our test performances last year none of our batsmen should be anywhere near top 10.
jairamesh Posted August 5, 2012 Posted August 5, 2012 ^^^ Surprisingly only 1 batsman from the current no.1 side in the top 10. South Africa have 4.
BeautifulGame Posted August 5, 2012 Posted August 5, 2012 How on earth is Taylor @ 12 th ? I admit I haven't watched much of NZL in tests recently has he really started to improve that much
Clarke Posted November 26, 2012 Posted November 26, 2012 Bump! Dhoni & Co. should consider scoring runs instead of blaming spinners. Can't bat abroad & now at home, seriously ? Other than Pujara, who's been half decent in the first two games ? There was a time when Tendulkar & Azhar could smash Warne against the spin on turning wickets while Dravid & Laxman would pierce the gaps endlessly. What's changed since ? Our spinners, nothing else!

It is our batsmen who repeatedly fails in all conditions. Only conditions we have hope is absolutely flat pitches. Parameters that help our team is getting narrower and narrower.
