Ram Posted November 8, 2011 Posted November 8, 2011 I was trying to blame my widescreen TV. :hysterical: I dont get it - how the hell do these guys have the barefaced cheek to show up on day 1 of a trainig camp, having more chins than eyes? Isnt there some sort of regulation within the team related to BMI, Body fat%, Bleep test etc?
Yoda-esque Posted November 8, 2011 Posted November 8, 2011 Its not that tough to get in shape and these guys are atheletes!! No excuses...

I would be pleasantly surprised if more than 2-3 team-members knew their body fat% and other stats, and have been keeping track of it.
saneindian Posted November 8, 2011 Posted November 8, 2011 Last time when he had bloated this much, he had the excuses of multiple injuries. Whats the excuse now? For his abysmal fitness alone, he should be dropped from the squad and asked to go back to Ranji trophy and shed 10 kgs in a month. Embarassing really and then these guys keep giving interviews suggesting how eager they are to establish themselves as a test crickerter.

carnish Posted November 8, 2011 Posted November 8, 2011 the senior guys in indian team were never athletic... dey played for india not because of their fitness but their talent... they wd have rarely visited da gyms in their young age bt only went to da nets... now in ds old age ders onli upto some extent dat dey cn exercise you can blame yuvi, ojha and ashwin but not SRT, RD, VVS, Viru
deathmonger Posted November 8, 2011 Posted November 8, 2011 yeah. yuvi, ojha, ashwin, dravid all c*** fielders. Although nothings as comical as seeing dravid chase n throw the ball. man what yuvi was like before on the field. :(( now with our bowlers becoming trundlers our best fielders become nonathletic too.
kubrickian Posted November 8, 2011 Posted November 8, 2011 man what yuvi was like before on the field. :(( now with our bowlers becoming trundlers our best fielders become nonathletic too. Enough with this trundler crap. Ishant and Umesh Yadav were bowling 140 + throughout this whole match and they couldnt do jack when it came to taking wickets. 16 off 20 WI wickets in this match were picked up by spinners. Before you go and blame it on the pitch, that's how most pitches in India are like and 'trundlers' like Praveen Kumar are the ones who are most successful on these wickets.

VVS Laxman is always the same. So is Viru.
Manny_Pacquiao Posted November 8, 2011 Posted November 8, 2011 its impossible to stay fit on an indian diet.
King Tendulkar Posted November 8, 2011 Author Posted November 8, 2011 its impossible to stay fit on an indian diet. Even on punjabi diet its possible. Never seen bhaji even an ounce overweight:--D

Hey, I was not angry. I dont know why you felt like that. Anyway, I think the same about the pitch not being conducive to fast bowlers and thereby rendering Ishant and Yadav ineffective. What I dont understand is how everybody seem to put down medium pacers, when they can be effective in certain conditions and also have a specific role to play. I feel Praveen Kumar would have been very good on this pitch, like how Sammy was for them. I think the selectors should think about picking the right bowlers with the pitches in mind.
vvvslaxman Posted November 8, 2011 Posted November 8, 2011 its impossible to stay fit on an indian diet. To be honest Indian diet is not that bad even if it varies length and breadth of the country. But if you stuff yourself with lot of empty calories (beer, soft drinks..) without doing any activity during off season you are bound to gain weight. I have never seen a fat Dravid since he made his debut. You need to be dedicated enough to maintain your fitness even when you don't play.
Manny_Pacquiao Posted November 8, 2011 Posted November 8, 2011 Even on punjabi diet its possible. Never seen bhaji even an ounce overweight:--D he is skinny. hard to imagine somebody maintaining fitness on a diet of aloo ke parathe, butter chicken and raita, topped off with a tall glass of lassi. you might as well go to mcdonalds and order the value meal
