To be fair to Yuvi this pitch is not suited for stroke makers like Yuvi.I am not sure even the likes of Kohli or Rohit would have performed well.I think the next 2 tests as well as pitches in Aus will suit him much better.So it is unfair to him if he is dropped just after a single test.I cant see him dropped for next test since Dhoni and selectors dont drop anyone hastily and try to give them a fair chance.Whether its yuvi or a youngster they are mostly given a fair run before dropped. But the fact Yuvi shouldnt have been selected for tests in the first place.Just like Rania should never have been given chances in test cricket.Both were given chances in tests based on ODI which is a stupid thing to do.It becomes even more pathetic when u see the likes of Pujara Rohit Rahane Mukund Kohli all scoring tons of runs and waiting for chances yet these 2 getting chance after chance based on ODI cricket.

There's no excuse for him to play more Tests. They have the chance to alleviate his initial selection by dropping him now. Nothing to gain from playing him - unfit, mediocre batting and now that Sehwag is bowling there's no need for Yuvraj's.

Yuvraj being in the test team is a symptom of India's huge hero worshiping culture and the inability of the ones with power to stay away from it. Can you imagine the field day the media would have had if the Man of the Series for the World Cup was not selected when fit and available? You've got to realize 90% or more people in India don't understand the difference between Tests, ODIs, and T20s - it's just cricket for them. Heck, most people on ICF (supposed to be hard core cricket fans by sample selection) don't see the difference as evidenced by rants about Dhoni's limited overs exploits in a thread about his test match performance. The media and public would go gangbusters on the selectors if Yuvraj was not picked after his WC performance - the selectors would have nowhere to hide. Yuseless, himself, was giving interviews as a matter of fact about his position in the test team. The guy should not be even in the same city where even a test is being played between two neutral countries, forget about India and yet he commands a place in the test team because Indians just love the mediocrity being served by T20s. It's a sad indictment of Indian cricket that a worthless Test match player like him will go on to play 50 test matches when the likes of Sandip Patil and Amre who were twice the batsmen that Yuvraj can ever hope to be represented India in such fewer matches. If so many chances had been given to Kambli, he would have made a place for himself.

Sad but so true. Yuseless is a proven failure in tests, Geoff Boycott said he will never make it at test level a few years ago because he does not have the technique, yet somehow he manages to get called up repeatedly - Pick, Fail, Fake injury, Disappear, and repeat When will Ind cricket grow up and move away from idol worship and pick players on merit?...

Boycott also said that Sehwag would never be a successful test player because of his technique during the ODI series in SA in 2001 when Gavaskar suggested opening with him in tests. No one outside the hopeless TMS is ready to offer him a job these days. The selectors should save Yuvraj and Raina of embarrassment and let them only play ODIs since it is something they are very good at.
