Number Posted November 14, 2011 Posted November 14, 2011 Assuming Sehwag & Gambhir continue for the next few yrs' date=' are we gonna keep Rahane out of the squad just because he is an opener ? If he is the best in the pool of youngsters, he should get a game at 5/6.[/quote'] He'll surely get a chance in tests.Normally he plays at no. 3 for Mumbai.
akshayxyz Posted November 14, 2011 Posted November 14, 2011 I don't really understand the reason for kepp playing yuvi. He is a proven failure and we need to move on. It's not like we don't have any alternative. After few more chances, even Yuvraj would start wondering why he is getting selected for tests. He doesn't seem to have any desire to perform.
zep1706 Posted November 14, 2011 Posted November 14, 2011 Just watched the highlights of the 1st session on sky, you just cannot play Yuvraj in the tests in Australia, what's the next option, it's a no brainer, Kohli.
Manny_Pacquiao Posted November 14, 2011 Posted November 14, 2011 he hasn't improved at all as a test player. plays the same way he did when he first started. ravi is talking about how he isnt using the depth of the crease, pushing outside off, going hard at the ball...this is an obvious critique that has been made for a while, but never came out in the public. surely this is the last test he plays for india?
akshayxyz Posted November 14, 2011 Posted November 14, 2011 Rohit must get at least one series, ahead of proven failure UV.
saneindian Posted November 14, 2011 Posted November 14, 2011 He's had his chances and blown then away. If they want to try out a tried and tested failure (and not Kohli/Rahane/Rohit), let that be Raina but not Yuvi.
putrevus Posted November 14, 2011 Posted November 14, 2011 Yuvi had his chances if he cant play on this flat pitch where can he play
bajrang Posted November 14, 2011 Posted November 14, 2011 nothing short of two back to back hundreds in this series should be made by yuvi to deserve chance in Australia.
King Tendulkar Posted November 14, 2011 Author Posted November 14, 2011 Drop him. Get the outstanding young talents in starting with Kohli and Rohit after that
ganeshran Posted November 14, 2011 Posted November 14, 2011 Even flat Aussie pitches have very good bounce. No way Yuvi and Raina should be selected there
Stuge Posted November 14, 2011 Posted November 14, 2011 Even Dhoni can score hundred on this pitch ,but UV can't :hitler:
Karan114 Posted November 14, 2011 Posted November 14, 2011 I feared he might fluke a 60 or 70 against this ordinary attack but clearly incapable of doing even that.
The Realist Posted November 14, 2011 Posted November 14, 2011 Its obvious to all but the selectors that Yuseless is just not good enough to play at test level. Does not have the technique to play test cricket, even if he had scored runs its only pappering over the cracks and just is not a viable long term solution. A decade of playing cricket and he still looks shaky and nervous as the crease. Its gone beyond funny, time to move on and give other players a decent chance.
Sidhoni Posted November 14, 2011 Posted November 14, 2011 Are the selectors blind?? Selecting Yuseless again and again. Even Raina can do better in SC pitches.
carnish Posted November 14, 2011 Posted November 14, 2011 KOHLI or PUJARA(if fit)... no YUVI or RAINA please by playing our ODI specialists in tests we are gonna drain them because of the number of games we are gonna play in the next 8 years... we need to develop different ODI and test teams with a max of 3-4 guys playing both formats so that most of the go to guys arent injured or want rest for even minnows series as any intl. india plays maybe against west indies or australia is important and we should not have a 2nd string side playing for india ever in future.
Trichromatic Posted November 15, 2011 Posted November 15, 2011 8 years and we are still waiting Yuvraj to prove himself. It's getting boring now.
VRV Singh Posted November 15, 2011 Posted November 15, 2011 Could not even do it on a patta with 350 runs on the board. Sky had a long clip of him being owned by the seamers, and he only faced 35 balls. :cantstop: 37 Test matches. End this farce now!!
Sooda Posted November 15, 2011 Posted November 15, 2011 If we win this surely its the end for him and both Rahane and Kohli will play, Id like to think there'll be a squad rehaul and other changes are made too.
vvvslaxman Posted November 15, 2011 Posted November 15, 2011 It is not like Kohli is a great choice. They should give Rahane a go. They should pick a genuine batsman not bit part player like Jaddu.
