zaheer Posted October 27, 2014 Posted October 27, 2014 Finished Season 1 of Wire. Loved it! For some reason, I'm not able to enjoy House of Cards. Watched it for Spacey, but just can't feel that beat. Switching between Seinfeld and Wire, its pretty weird but you don't enjoy Seinfeld or any sitcom after you watch something as natural as Wire. If Breaking Bad is Godfather of the TV series then Wire is Shawshank Redemption. After watching Wire and Breaking bad.. even i could not enjoy any series.. i used to like Dexter.. i watched around 4 seasons of Dexter but then i could not finish it at all.... Now i am enjoying Person of Interest quite a lot.

I love Dexter the character, so love the series.
Sachin=GOD Posted October 27, 2014 Posted October 27, 2014 The Wire and Sopranos are in a class of their own. No recent series comes close. As for people not enjoying House of Cards - I said this earlier also. Its not a good political drama and the earlier British version was far better.
Sachin=GOD Posted October 27, 2014 Posted October 27, 2014 BTW you guys should watch 'State of Play' - its a 6 episode political mini series and its brilliant.

Slickr-maune, considering your background - you will love Wire though. Watch the UK version of House of Cards, you will like it because Francis Urquhart is played by a theatre actor.

I should restart the Sopranos - I couldn't keep up with after the first few episodes. :-/
Cricket_Hacker Posted October 27, 2014 Posted October 27, 2014 Finished the anime "Death Note".Hadn't seen an anime in ages, but it's a masterpiece. The plot consistently surprises you and is much better than Indian TV shows/Bollywood movies
vvvslaxman Posted October 27, 2014 Posted October 27, 2014 Is it just me or does Oliver from Arrow look a bit like Sir Jadeja In some angles. But his demeanour is better than bale,s dark knight one lol where he looked stone dead despite being a. Good actor

I love Dexter the character' date=' so love the series.[/quote'] Wow same way lolbb I gave up after 10 episodes. May be because I have aversion towards subjects based on drugs. Just a turn off.

Watch the [b']UK version of House of Cards, you will like it because Francis Urquhart is played by a theatre actor. Watched the whole first season until he becomes the PM. It is so dated, story telling and acting has advanced so much, it doesn't pass the the test of time like some movies - Godfather, Serpico etc. I didn't enjoy it.

Only past 4 episodes now. Will see how it goes by the end of a season. He becomes the PM? Wow

I get a lot of stick for saying that on the Twitter and FB. :cantstop: I stopped at Season 2 and later on watched the whole thing, but after TDetective and Wire, I just din't enjoy the show a lot despite the awesome characters in it. It gets better after Season 2 though.
Debutant Posted November 2, 2014 Posted November 2, 2014 Finished Kungfu Panda - Legends of Awesomeness
DomainK Posted November 2, 2014 Posted November 2, 2014 Started watching "Motive". A very different approach to homicide investigation. They show right from the beginning who the victim is and who the killer is. Then the investigation ensues as you are taken through the before and aftermath of the murder. Very nice show. Good stories and good performances.
