biggest joke of the selection he was at that time. Never played a 3 day match in the domestic cricket let alone proper 4 or 5 day games. Costed us a series in Australia by poor keeping in Sydney.

Who should be our spinner in Aus, as we will only play 1 Only 1 spinner will be in test team in aus. Who should it be? Ashwin or Oijha? In bowling terms I slightly favour Oijha. But Ashwins batting takes him way ahead to me, so I go for Ashwin.

Ashwin. Australian pitches will bounce more rather than spin. Ojha's variations are more with regards to turn( big spinner followed by arm ball) . ashwin relies more on bounce. so definitely ashwin for the 1st test. maybe if he fails miserably or in sydney, we can play ojha either alongside or as a replacement for him.

Aussies will have 3-4 left handers in their top 7 (Hughes, Warner, Hussey, Khwaja, Marsh), so it has to be Ashwin.

All the things are working in favour of Ash here. He can extract more bounce due to his height on the bouncy pitches of Aus. The left handers ,as Saneindian mentioned, will also struggle against the offie. And add his batting skills to that.

if u are only considering spin ojha is better his variation are beating batsman in flight and mabe he wont get turn but he will still hold up u can count on him now but looking at the team ashwin will play he is much better batsman would be handy and its not lke he is bad he is almost as good as ojha and will get better

Ashwin. Although his ability to extract bounce makes him potentially more useful on Aussie pitches, its his batting ability that really seals it in his favor.

I strongly feel India should go with two spinners , as both are automatic selection if we go with our best XI. But thats not going to happen, Ashwin edges out Ojha with his superior batting capability.
