vishalvirsingh Posted November 30, 2011 Posted November 30, 2011 What are you talking about. His average speed was 140K yesterday, hit 145K consistently, and was over 140K most of the time. Cricinfo shows mostly different speeds than on TV, but still they were showing good speeds for him. How many 135K deliveries there, 3 out of 36. fastest one for aaron was one at 147.1K..Umesh had atleast 4 to 5 balls in this range( around 146 to 148K)
vishalvirsingh Posted November 30, 2011 Posted November 30, 2011 I saw Umesh's average bowling speed was quoted at 144.9kph (90mph)...He certainly is no fast medium bowler. Thats genuine quick ! Deadly Quick- I agree...I wud go ahead and say he was faster than fidel edwards, roach , ravi rampaull.., he was the fastest. though i have to say on and average - Umesh- Fastest Fidel Edwards- Second fastest Roach- third Varun Aroon- Fourth Ravi - Fifth fidel and roach seemed to be normally faster than Varun Aroon though I agree VA looks more intelligent. Roach bowled fast and got 3 wickets and even that trundler from WI playing yesterday got a few wicekts.. but YES I thank WI Board that they did not play RAVI ahead of their Captain ( Sammy ) I bet if Ravi wud have played yesterday ahead of their captain- INDIA Would have been all out under 125.

Gambhir hit a 4 and next ball Snicking Roach to WK...? I bet if Ravi wud have played yesterday ahead of their captain- INDIA Would have been all out under 125.

I kinda Bet that one out of these 2 Umesh or Aroon will get atleast 3 wickets- Aroon is more intelligent but Umesh is faster and more talented.., i cant be sure who will get more wickets in these 5 ONe days.....
BeautifulGame Posted November 30, 2011 Posted November 30, 2011 Based on cricinfo ( leaving out intentional slow balls) Umesh Yadav Fastest : 148.5 Slowest : 136.8 Average : 143 .1 Varon Aaron Fastest : 145.5 Slowest : 134.1 Average : 140 .7
mastana Posted November 30, 2011 Posted November 30, 2011 rkt bhai tussee Umesh tey Varun dey spokesperson lage huey ho? Har thread wich unhanu defend karan chale aande ho. :giggle:
Old guy Posted November 30, 2011 Posted November 30, 2011 now we can finally say we have a fast bowler :) 145 avg no one can doubt him now this guy also showed better contorl in this series than england i guess he was nervous then... aaron slower but one thing going for him he got 2 stress fracture and it didn't slowed him down so he is here to say and bowl with pace ;) and he can swing dont think mumbai track helped him enough bowls good tight lines...could be a good 3rd seamer in australia his natural length is perfect for australia

You are forgetting Ishant with quickest of 146.6 k and consistently bowling 140 k to 145 k in tests where bowlers are often 3 k to 5 k slower than ODis. he would be the 3rd quckest this series. Umesh Edwards Ishant/ Roach Aaron Rampaul
rkt.india Posted November 30, 2011 Posted November 30, 2011 You are forgetting Ishant with quickest of 146.6 k and consistently bowling 140 k to 145 k in tests where bowlers are often 3 k to 5 k slower than ODis. he would be the 3rd quckest this series. Umesh Edwards Ishant/ Roach Aaron Rampaul Roach was slower than Aaron. Aaron hit fastest at 147, Roach was 146. Aaron was consistently quicker than Roach. According to speeds shown on cricinfo, Roach had 16 ball less than 140K in his first 30 balls, while Aaron had 9 balls less than 140K in his first 36 balls. So who is slower Aaron or Roach. Aaron is quicker here. Roach's fastest ball was 144.2 K on cricinfo while Aaron's fastest was 147.1K on cricinfo.
flamy Posted November 30, 2011 Posted November 30, 2011 Umesh and Ishant both are different and Ishant's career was screwed up because of his own undoings. ODI or T20 does not have anything to do with it. If you change your bowling action' date=' bowling approach, you will face these problems. Ishant tried this and got the unwanted results. I would say they should play him but still rotate the bowlers, not playing in every match. We yet to have a few fast bowlers to try and give them enough chances, likes of Abu Nechim, Dhawal Kulkarni, [b']Mohammad Shami, Rahul Shukla, Ashok Dinda, Tyagi, etc. :woot:
flamy Posted November 30, 2011 Posted November 30, 2011 Enjoyed watching them bowl :) I like it that we have 2 fast bowlers. We always used to have one genuine wicket-taker. Cricket is more exciting when we have two fast bowlers bowling in tandem.
express bowling Posted November 30, 2011 Posted November 30, 2011 Roach was slower than Aaron. Aaron hit fastest at 147, Roach was 146. Aaron was consistently quicker than Roach. Generally during the test series, Roach was a bit quicker than Aaron by about 1 or 2 k and in this ODI they were somewhat similar pacewise according to the TV speedgun. So, based on the whole series, I have called Roach margially quicker.

How can you call Roach quicker, when I gave you evidence that Roach was slower based on speeds shown on cricinfo. They wont show slower speeds only for Roach, it was same for Aaron as well, but still Aaron has more faster deliveries than Roach and Roach and Aaron did not play together in test. Even on speed guns shown on TV Aaron had more faster deliveries than Roach.

But this discussion is not that important and is more academic in nature. More importantly, India has 3 pacer who are bowling quite a few 140 k to 145 k deliveries in every spell they are bowling with fastest deliverries in the high to mid 140s. Umesh is bowling some spells consistently between 144 k to 147 k. Most importantly all the pacers are bowling well at high pace. I am happy that we are debating over which attack as a whole is quicker, India's or WI's. I never thought this day would come.

bajrang Posted December 1, 2011 Posted December 1, 2011 is aaron christian ?? if so then i hope to see yadav, abu and aaron bowling togather. we will have the whole amar akbar and anthony thing going on there. secular india at 140+ FTW even with zak things will work, and if u put bhajji into the mix we will have every major religion covered. :D
nanda14792 Posted December 1, 2011 Posted December 1, 2011 Agreed!! Yes Playing Both Aaron N Umesh In The Next Game Will Help Them Expose To Some Power Hitting Batting Of Pollard Or Sammy......which They Will Obviously Be Facing Against Aussies Who Have Players Like Watson Whu Can Dismantle Any Attack Around The World...

vishalvirsingh Posted December 2, 2011 Posted December 2, 2011 I was Pleasantly Surprised to see Umesh walking with so much Confidence and as if a Lion is walking to the bowling Mark........even when he was hit for a 6 oFF a planned slow ball....he was heartily Laughing. He was beating the batsmen as and when he planned..it was as if he was controlling the batters totally.......I have only seen Zak showing a lot of confidence over himself and overpowering the batsman and creating a inferiorty Complex in the batters...... Its mind game guys......UY is going the Zak way as far as showing confidence is concerned. UY will be our sperHead after Zak calls it a day. I wish Zak manages to play the Australia Series.
