Bollinger is not a part of their test team plans. Harris is fragile and is mostly injured after a test. Siddle is decent but is not what we should fear. Johnson has past it already. He could not buy a wicket on more bowling friendly conditions in SA or in SL too. Cummins is rookie, only 18, and we are not sure if he can sustain heavy workload of a 4 tests series. He got injured only after one test in SA. It shows he is prone to injuries. He has an immature body. Talking about winning tests against SA, even we won a test against SA and could have won last test as well. England was an exceptionally poor tour for the whole team. I do not see that happening again. I have no reason to be fear of Aussie bowling attack if our batsmen play sensibly. I am not saying our bowling attack will destroy them. I meant it is the batting which should click and should not have any fear of Aussie bowling in their mind.

Also I want not all 3 to leave at once instead use two new players and 2 out of big 3.Even Australia with much better bowling backup struggled after Shane & McGrath retired...this Indian side will hit rock bottom if we don't infuse youngsters who can gain confidence in playing Test matches ...or else we are doomed( get ready for more Rainas ). Anybody remember English side of '94 that went to Aus with Graham Gooch,Mike Gatting (still in good form) and the state of English side post their retirement for rest of 90s. Totally agree... future of the team is more important than careers of big 3.

putrevus Posted November 30, 2011 Posted November 30, 2011 When was last time India won more than one test match in series overseas outside sub continent , my guess would be 1986 in England.Unless they change that trend I don't think they are winning more than one test. Is the batting which has always failed them overseas good enough to draw the rest of three matches ? For all stats our batting stars have they have rarely clicked to perform as a unit overseas.Hope that changes this time around.

In 2007-08, Sehwag had to play out of skin in saving match on last day and avoiding a 3-1 loss.

The batsmen have to pile on the runs so bowlers could put pressure. honestly speaking this is 2011 yadav,aaron,ashwin all toured australia atleast 1 time they know the conditions... its not like its gonna be harder to bowl there if naything they will atleas get some bounce out of pitch and this yadav swung bowl in india he will swing it anywhere in world trust me on that and if you cant count on youngsters then how is cummings any different? he was in lower 130s in 2nd innings dont htink he has stamina yet and othere bowlers were outbowled by this kid (im talking abt australia) btw aaron really impressed akram while touring for emerging players tournament in australia that tells u something ;)

We didn't have such a great attack in our previous tours to Aus so this tour wouldn't be such a drop-off in terms of our bowling strength but on the other hand Aussies are much weaker than they were the last time we toured them. So Indians should fancy their chances and will be disappointed if they don't come away with the win. I would have preferred India to tour Aus before kiwis as Aussies will get match practice under their belt before the India series.
