You fought the good fight!
Indeed.
I guarantee a house in jannah for the one who gives up arguing' date=' even if he is right; and I guarantee a home in the middle of jannah for the one who abandons lying even for the sake of fun; and I guarantee a house in the highest part of jannah for the one who has good manners.[/quote']

Middle part is downright impossible. Regarding the first part, so sissies are guaranteed a house in Jannah. :P

But I value my place in jannah, so I'll pass. :P

Day of Ashura = Sacred for Shia Muslims. A lot of Shia's participate self flagellation of this day. Sectarian violence between Shia's and Sunnis' in the past have happened in and around this day. Off topic but I can't believe this day is a public holiday in India.

Not for these discussions. Since you ask, suicide bombing is as un-Islamic as eating pork. The Holy Quran forbids a person from pre-deciding his own place/time of death. Its seen as an affront to Allah, as he's taking away a life that Allah has given him. In fact, when a man had committed suicide during the Prophet's (S.A.W) lifetime, he did not perform the janazah prayer at the deceased funeral.

It's like me wondering why people bend down in a particular direction all their lives and doing it multiple times a day. What may make sense to u might not to someone else

So I have a question for you Mariyam. And it is not quite relevant to this thread so you may skip it if you want to. Why do you think historically there has been so much violence in Islamic religious places (mosque)? Many key figures of Islam, Ali for example, or Umar. Or modern day killings in mosque based on sectarian violence. Typically religious places are safety sanctuaries. At times like flood, arson, riots these are often the last resort of people seeking refuge, regardless of religious leaning. So why this propensity of killing in a religious sanctorum amongst Muslims? Other religions could very well be guilty of doing it at some time but I doubt they have such chequered history. No offence meant of course.
