Apple begins replacement program for faulty iPhone 5 batteries According to Apple, a small number of iPhone 5 sold between September 2012 and January 2013 are experiencing battery problems, where the users may experience reduced battery life, causing them to charge more frequently. gsmarena_001.jpg Apple is now asking those who purchased an iPhone 5 in that period to check if they eligible for their battery replacement program. You have to enter the serial number of iPhone on Apple's website to check if your phone is eligible and if it is, Apple will replace the battery free of charge. How the hell the Chinese manage to make them so cheap? And Xiaomi is not a stupid brand - they are world famous and well reviewed products. Incredible! Proof of how overpriced are Samsung and Apple.

Did Amazon Only Sell 35,000 Fire Phones? A new report from the Guardian today claims to have figured out sales figures for the Amazon Fire Phone, and they’re not great. According to the article, Amazon has only managed to move about 35,000 units since its debut. When we finally heard the official details about the Amazon Fire Phone in July, it sounded pretty neat, if a little non-traditional: running on a forked version of Android, it could give you information (and relevant purchasing links) about whatever object you zapped with its Fire Fly app, while also sporting six infrared, motion-tracking cameras to provide pseudo-3D visuals without glasses. At $200 with a two-year contract on AT&T, it’s not cheap, but it seemed like it might be an interesting entrant in the smartphone race.

Most of the phones (be it by Samsung or Apple or HTC or Sony etc) are not that costly to make but these big companies (especially Apple) sell them at a HUGE premium and people buy them bcoz of the brand value and trust associated with these brands. People outside of China simply don't trust Chinese brands so imagine what to happen if on top of a trust problem, these Chinese brands' phones are as costly as Sasmung/HTC etc.
