I interned with Amit Ganguly (retired SC judge currently being investigated for sexually harassing a female intern) back in 2003 when he was a senior advocate at the SC. I had great hopes of making at least 10K for the two months long slog. On the last day of internship he took me to Supreme Court cafeteria for a thali. Gave me a pat on the back and sent me on my way. My first real paycheck came in 2003 itself from Daubert Tracker, a Chicago based legal research firm who were hiring us law students on slave labor wages. But slave labour rate of 3 dollars an hour meant about 200 dollars a month for two hours of work every day. I never had to ask my parents for living expenses again. The most substantial paycheck I got was the day of recruitment in 2006. A crisp cheque of Rs 50K. Was duly pissed away in last semester parties. :giggle:

Did some accounting and tax work for my uncle who gave me Rs. 6k and I was delighted when I earned that. How did I spend it? No, I didn't, I gave it to my Mom who in turn gave it to my Grandma :icflove: I get everything I want from my Mom and Dad :icflove:
