Laaloo Posted December 29, 2011 Author Posted December 29, 2011 Need to remove Dravid from the slips and place someone else there. Unfortunately, we can't put VVS there when Ashwin bowls because of his bad back.
deathmonger Posted December 29, 2011 Posted December 29, 2011 Ok we will grind DLT into the dust. make them play every test match, they will play this series, all 3 will play against SL and ENG next year. Newbies will only get a chance at no.6 where most of the time they will be coming in and be expected to score quickly to set a declaration or bat with the tail and eek out some extra runs. Then we will be back here this time next year saying the same old BS. Can't you smell the rotten stench of the staleness that is surrounding this Indian test team? It stinks but seems you have the same nose guard as the selectors. Laxman should go. Dravid a bit after that. Tendu can stay. This guy is still playing very well.
deathmonger Posted December 29, 2011 Posted December 29, 2011 Anyone who under-estimates VVS are setting themselves up for a massive egg-on-face. I am willing to bet my house that the guy will deliver this tour. 7 mil bet.
Karan114 Posted December 29, 2011 Posted December 29, 2011 Especially given the fact that he takes his time to adjust to conditions. He scored single digits in both innings in the 1st test in SA as well before the Durban test. Also failed twice at Jamaica before making three fifties in the rest of the series in WI.
Cricket Tragic Posted December 29, 2011 Posted December 29, 2011 Also failed twice at Jamaica before making three fifties in the rest of the series in WI. Yeah, he made a duck and another low score I think.
master22 Posted December 29, 2011 Posted December 29, 2011 Laxman to score his 4th consecutive ton at SCG:dance:
ganeshran Posted December 29, 2011 Posted December 29, 2011 Laxman to score his 4th consecutive ton at SCG:dance: :antijinx:
Khalpat Posted December 29, 2011 Posted December 29, 2011 Its been 3 years since the retirement of Saurav Ganguly and we have till now not found a proper replacement for number 6 and now armchair critics are asking the other fab 3 to get retired.
maniac Posted December 29, 2011 Posted December 29, 2011 Lol at people mentioning some random names to replace the big 3.......First let someone like Kohli, Rohit or Rahane start performing then we can gradually phase them out.....Until then these guys have to keep playing otherwise we will become like WI....WI too were a decent ODI unit when their decline started,so if you go by some of our youngsters performing at the ODI level,I definetely see a pattern here. Look what happened with Aussies when their big names retired but atleast they still have 2-3 big names and a decent bowling unit but with our bowling unit we will be the minnows atleast in test cricket if we minus our seniors.
maniac Posted December 29, 2011 Posted December 29, 2011 Take SRT,VVS and RD out.... Our senior most test batsmen will be the ever reliable Sehwag and batsmen with amazing technique especially overseas like Dhoni and Gambhir
Andrew Peter Posted December 29, 2011 Posted December 29, 2011 Especially given the fact that he takes his time to adjust to conditions. He scored single digits in both innings in the 1st test in SA as well before the Durban test. If Laxman was capable of adjusting into the new conditions right from the first test ,something which the likes of SRT & Dravid often do , then we could have avoided going 1-0 down after first test of every tough away tour and eventually could have even won the series . Like in the current series , there is hardly any chance of making a comeback after going 1-0 down . Any chance of first test series victory in Australia is virtually over just because some special players require 2-3 Innings failures to adjust to the conditions and then play there trademark knock , by the time often all the chances of winning the series are over .
Jersey #10 Posted December 29, 2011 Posted December 29, 2011 the fielding point to be fair was not one of my main considerations' date=' it just happened to be at the top.[/quote'] Then what is the "main consideration" according to you?
The Outsider Posted December 29, 2011 Posted December 29, 2011 Then what is the "main consideration" according to you? Tu Math padh le jaa kar, so you get a degree from UVA instead of bothering about main considerations. Jab degree mil jaaye, let me know so I don't dump all applications for jobs in the trash coming from your university anymore.

Malcolm Merlyn Posted December 29, 2011 Posted December 29, 2011 Nopes he will play another couple os seasons.10000 test runs. Sent from my GT-I9103 using Tapatalk
Singham Posted December 31, 2011 Posted December 31, 2011 End of Laxman? Will this guy just retire? Had enough of this old man. Can't run, can't field (oh yeah..!! except slips). Now his age is catching up,Slow reflexes which is not good enough on bouncy and fast tracks. Pls retire with respect Sir laxman.
Needforspeed Posted December 31, 2011 Posted December 31, 2011 I dont think the big 3 (maybe except Sachin) are going to be there when India tour S.A in 2013 Dec. Before that the selectors have to ensure there are replacements in place. Maybe they can rotate the Big 3 to give one new batsman a chance in the Home series against NZ and England and the Srilankan series. No question of any changes during the current series.
1983-2011 Posted December 31, 2011 Posted December 31, 2011 Laxman in 2011 773 runs at an average of 40.68
