in 10 mins - 16-15 Go Vijender thru to QFs. If he wins in QFs one more match and he will get a bronze for sure (all SFs get a medal!)
His next fight is with the number 3 seed Atoev (2 time world champ)

really? losers of semis dont play for bronze?
yeah losers of semis get bronze..It is a bit strange as in badminton there is a bronze medal match.

It's not all bad though. Vijender beat him 7:0 at the Asian games

not at all impressive match from Vijender ' date=' [b']how won more on guile than skill in this match. If this is what he is, then it is tough for him moving on.
he played shrewdly :dontknow:

He played the match before Vijender's. Compact boxer with a good defense and doesn't move around much but he was exhausted and in the end and dominated by the Romanian Juratoni, however, the judges gave it in favor of Atoev 12-10. :dontknow:

I have posted this before too....Vijayender has kinda cracked the code.....He knows how to earn points....As I said amateur boxing is not about beating up your opponent... Kind of like say Zaheer Khan....no pace or exceptional swing but has a plan how to pick up wickets....not the best analogy but that's what I can think of right now.... Hopefully, the judges don't screw him over

this might be the last time indians can win boxing medals because pro boxers will participate in Rio olympics.
How much difference will it make if the rules remain the same?
