CG Posted February 7, 2012 Posted February 7, 2012 He is not a ODI opener.Watching him bat in India against Pommys was painful most of the times. Yes he did not have a good series against eng but he got back to form in the last odi,He batted well in tougher conditions in england.
MCcricket Posted February 7, 2012 Posted February 7, 2012 India had a chance to bowl on a helpful track, the score was much higher then what a decent bowling side would have allowed,PK looked bad, VK better but does have the bite,Ashwin bowled very poorly, only R Sharma looked good. When Australia bowled second seemed like a different track, our bowling is WEAK, same for capt and selectors. It wasn't as much of a batting failure more of a bowling failure.
Ultimate_Game Posted February 7, 2012 Author Posted February 7, 2012 honstly guyz.. has uthappa been doing well in recent ranji matches.. for all that i can see uthappa has only two shots in his plate... moving away and hitting the ball behind the keeper or coming on front foot and plonking away.. i am sure he would be as suspect as raina on these pitches... My team would be 7 pure play batsmen and 4 bowlers with just one spinner... i am from TN and ashwin is struggling. so he has to be dropped gambhir sehwag kohli sachin raina rohit dhoni Irfan PK/Vinay Zaheer/ Umesh Rahul sharma/Ojha we have this setup we will start winning. cant have vinay and pk in the same team. both are so similar in pace and capabilities with PK edging out koomarrrrrrrrrrrr in the longer term. we do this we should be good... no need for uthappa..unless sehwag is a super big flop... we need to persist with rohit for him to allow to come of age in internationals outside sub continent and i am sure we would see the effects in the next 3 -4 matches. Agree with your team. Jadeja can't do much in Aus against pacers and you need 7 batsmen to put up a defendable total or chase a score.
zaqw222222 Posted February 7, 2012 Posted February 7, 2012 This is where we miss Yuvraj most, a middle order bat who can not only consolidate but change gears quickly and a decent 5th bowling option. Just shows how important yuvi is to our team
Ultimate_Game Posted February 7, 2012 Author Posted February 7, 2012 This is where we miss Yuvraj most' date=' a middle order bat who can not only consolidate but change gears quickly and a decent 5th bowling option. Just shows how important yuvi is to our team[/quote'] Yuvi was Man of the World Cup for a reason. In fact India has won all the major tourneys Yuvraj did well in - T20 Cup, 2011 World Cup etc. and is one of the better short format players. In fact our WC win was due to Yuvraj and Zaheer.
kabira Posted February 7, 2012 Posted February 7, 2012 every problem with indian team is serious nowadays. I mean one rain curtailed ODI was enough to find this serious flow. awesome
Sidhoni Posted February 7, 2012 Posted February 7, 2012 There is not much of a problem, maybe MSD coming up the order might solve the problems, if any.

jusarrived Posted February 7, 2012 Posted February 7, 2012 I would like to see Jadeja bat up the order , if hes playing .

CG Posted February 7, 2012 Posted February 7, 2012 There is not much of a problem' date=' maybe MSD coming up the order might solve the problems, if any.[/quote'] Msd will come up the order if our openeing patnership clicks otherwise as he is wiser to know his game.
Lord Posted February 7, 2012 Posted February 7, 2012 Sehwag Goddy GG Kohli Rohit MSD Irfan PK Rahul VK Umesh this'll be my team
Magneto Posted February 7, 2012 Posted February 7, 2012 for now thats my team too would like to see rahane in place of gambhir if he keeps in failing.. or even sehwag! Rahane is in Mumbai right now. Looking up domestic cricket fixtures. :hehe:
Old guy Posted February 7, 2012 Posted February 7, 2012 Rahane is in Mumbai right now. Looking up domestic cricket fixtures. :hehe: i know but im talking about team i want to see not saying players selected are from squad.. its the future team :P(maybe i will add dinda too)
Number Posted February 7, 2012 Posted February 7, 2012 I would like to see Jadeja bat up the order ' date=' if hes playing .[/quote'] +1. Also Raina I feel needs to step up now. We have invested a lot in him (130 odd ODIs), and tbf to him he has played some decisive knocks in important games in WC and Asia Cup. But now its time for him to show consistency outside SC and move up the order. It will help him to get a chance in test team as well as solve some of our ODI batting problems.
IKnowU Posted February 7, 2012 Posted February 7, 2012 :hysterical: Everyone is after Jadeja after one match. Hes is the fav scapegoat in the Indian side for a while it seems.
Old guy Posted February 7, 2012 Posted February 7, 2012 :hysterical: Everyone is after Jadeja after one match. Hes is the fav scapegoat in the Indian side for a while it seems. not really .. just look at these factors.. 1 .. match is being played in perth which helps quick bowlers.. spinners will struggle . 2.. sri lanka is subcontinent side and plays spin really well also i think jaddu will be first pick inside sub continent but here balance of team is not proper if he plays .. only rahul sharma bowled well from all the spinners and i think only he should play.. rest of bowlers should be fast bowlers..
Ultimate_Game Posted February 7, 2012 Author Posted February 7, 2012 Michael Jeh thinks the same. Here's this excerpt from his article... India were realistically never in the hunt after they lost early wickets. It was the sort of chase that needed a Virender Sehwag or Yuvraj Singh presence.
