ShebbySB Posted February 18, 2012 Posted February 18, 2012 Only thing that he has improved on his game is the pace that he got back in last 6 months or so.But in 4 years of his intl. career he has barely improved as a strike bowler for India.I still believe if he can sort out lengths in diff conditions & uses his knuckle head a bit to set a batman up then he can lead the Indian attack.He's only 23 now & has played 45 tests for India already.He has pace,height,good rhythmic action still he's not threatning enough due his inconsistent bowling.He has age on his side & he can improve his game by playing couple of county seasons & then comeback into the Indian team like Zak did.Hope he does so else he'll be another chapter of the book of "lot of promise with no good"..........

bajrang Posted February 18, 2012 Posted February 18, 2012 he has all ingredient and more importantly the time to improve. pretty sure he will play for long time. we cant keep on having these fast bowlers who breakout on international scene with a bang and then fizzle. something wrong happens to them at the top level and he or maybe the management needs to figure it out.

He has been badly under performed in recent series and has been unlucky (the Australian commentators constantly mentioned that Ishant bowled far better than his figures suggested during the test series). He has the ingredients to be a successful test bowler.

bharat297 Posted February 19, 2012 Posted February 19, 2012 He will be our future leader of the attack, along with Yadav. He hasn't had a great year this past year. Struggled in South Africa, England and Australia. However, he bowled the majority of his deliveries in good areas at very good pace (~145-150kmh) but just didn't have enough wicket taking deliveries. His general length probably needs to be half a foot fuller tbh. I think he needs to mould himself on McGrath, Pollock, etc. and be the guy that just hits the spot, ball after ball after ball and may have to be content with the fact that he builds the pressure and the guy at the other end takes the wickets. He could do with a spell in county cricket where he can work on getting a few more wicket taking balls in his arsenal. At the moment, he's got the inswinger and the off-cutter. If he can develop a solid outswinger, from his angle, height and at his pace, he will be lethal. If we give up on him now, then it will be our loss. Lets see what Joe Dawes does with him.
