this thread is for keeping track of the fast bowlers from each side in the asia cup , we have seen a recent trend whereby there have been doubts over the speedguns and bowlers recording different speeds in different conditions , since the speed guns are going to be the same for all the asian sides ,we shall determine the trundlers from the rest . bowlers to watch . india: ashok dinda (heard he is quick ) , vinay kumar . pakistan :umar gul (clocked a couple at 149 in the t20s vs england , almost matched finn for pace on similar speed guns) , aizaz cheema , possible selections :wahab riaz , junaid khan srilanka : malinga , fernando bangladesh :shakib ul hassan ??? Dinda bowls between 135 to 145 k's, Sami for most of his career bowled similar speeds, he wasn't express, Indian team selection is bad for Asia Cup.

The me*dium-built bowler returned with 59 wickets from nine matches, including 22 from three Duleep Trophy matches. He was the star bowler for Bengal, taking 37 wickets, the second highest after TP Sudhindra of Madhya Pradesh, from six matches in the Ranji Trophy. Although Bengal were unfortunate not to qualify to the quarterfinals, Dinda played a huge role along with Wriddhiman Saha in East Zone’s maiden title triumph in Duleep Trophy. “It was a nice feeling when for the first time East Zone won the Duleep Trophy,’’ said the 27-year-old Dinda. Dinda is in incredible form and fo*r*mer Test opener WV Raman says Bengal pacer should have been in Australia. “He should have straightway made the Austr*alian tour. It was unfortunate he was not in the original side or as a replacement. He is one of the fa*s*test bowlers in the country now and the Australian wickets would have suited him nicely. He deserves a recall to the Indian team, based pu*rely on his fine performances,’’ said Raman, who is the coach of the Bengal team. Dinda, who made his debut in 2010, played in five ODIs and three T20 matches before bei*ng discarded by the national select*ors. Former Indian pacer Debasish Mohanty, who was the co*ach of the triumphant East Zone team, believes Dinda will be back in the Indian team soon. “I’m sure the selectors would not ignore his st*rong performances. He has been qu*ick and bowls a nagging line to the batsmen. His ability to extract bo*unce and swing on slow wickets has been the feature of his bowling this season. He has become a tot*ally different bowler this season,’’ sa*id Mohanty. Raman said Dinda was always quick but he has also transformed into a street-smart cricketer now. “He worked on his bowling a lot. There was little bit of technical is*sues and it was sorted out. He kn*ew about his strengths and gained in confidence as the season progr*essed. He was fast and nippy. What is more he bowled long spells — so*metimes 11 overs — and never got tired. He was always looked to take wickets. That made Dinda look different from others,’’ said Raman. Dinda realised it was crucial to make a few adjustments to his bo*wling and become more effective. There was a full-scale preparati*on before the start of the season. “With WV Sir’s help, I bowled with a shorter run-up. I bowled to one stump to gain accuracy and also the importance of stump-to-stump bowling was practised. It helped me a lot,’’ added Dinda. Hailing from a small village of Na*ichanpur, Dinda, who made his first-class debut in 2005, has come a long way. He bowled his fa*stest ball at 147.5 km for Delhi Da*redevils during the IPL tournam*ent last season. He was confident of touching 150 km. “It is possible. In fact, this season with assistance from my trainer Chinmoy Roy, I wo*rked on strength exercise to my shoulders and legs a lot. I did a lot of weight training and this made me a strong bowler. I was never ti*red,’’ he said. The Bengal bowler, irrespective of the stature of the wickets, troubled all the batsmen. He had five five-wickets and two 10-wickets hauls this season. “I really enjoyed bowling fast. I never bothered ab*out the wickets and bowled to a good line and length. I even took 12 wickets against against H*aryana, taking 10 wickets in a match for the first time in a career and that continued in the Duleep Tr*ophy,’’ pointed out Dinda. Talk about his possible return to the Indian team, Dinda said his job was to take wickets. But he is happy there is good competition for fast bowlers in the Indian team. “It is a healthy sign,’’ he said. Raman says Dinda should cont*inue with his good work, which will help him get into the Indian team in the near future.

We did and he was the cr@ppiest bowler on either side. He nearly lost India the game and was the reason why we had to chase 274 instead of 240 odd. The guy couldn't bowl line & length and gave freebies when all the Indian bowlers' date=' especially Zak, were keeping it tight. gul bowls 149 once in two overs, finn bowls it twice in one over and without doubt can bowl 6 balls of 149 in an over . big difference. dont flatter gul. we dont have umesh aron and ishant playing, this thread is pointless .

But DindA also touches 145K- Anything higher than 140K is fast enuf than its just the line n length that's the key Dinda "s pace will be followed and who knows our VK also brings it around 140K Wahab riaz is 147K+ gul is slower than wahab now......n Gul is not too fast now.

No speed to watch from Indian side. No Yadav, Aaron or Sree and Dinda not playing. Yadav would have been smoked anyway but missing the latter two. But our batting if fires as it has today, bowlers can contain although they are not natural wicket takers.

In IPL he was consistantly touching 140k and hasnt had a chance in internationals yet. Sree will never put on an Indian jersey again, no pace, no ability and no chance!
