J P K Posted March 7, 2012 Posted March 7, 2012 We need find more so that we can chose best of them to play most often and others can stay in reserve pool. Look at where we were on England tour when we had to recall RP Halwaayi to bowl for us in a test. We need a pool of capable fast bowlers in case of injuries. VK and Aaron right now are only proved good for ODIs. VK could not prove anything even at Perth in test and it will be hard for him to become a successful test bowlers. He still will be useful in ODIs. Selectors need to differentiate the formats and play different bowlers in different formats. agree Since when is VK a genuine fast bowler as Aaron & Yadav? any bowler who bowls 140 at-least once is phaasst IMO
Sean Bradley Posted March 7, 2012 Posted March 7, 2012 This thready reminds me of a certain Atul "akhade ka Pehelwaan" Sharma, where is he?

Laaloo Posted March 7, 2012 Posted March 7, 2012 do We really need more fast bowlers? When you say We, who are you referring to deshdrohi? Kenya? Zimbabwe? Uganda? Bermuda? Balochistan? Canada?
saket123 Posted March 7, 2012 Posted March 7, 2012 too tall and bony. Probably a vegetarian. Shoulders don't look very strong. Legs are probably skinny too. Will phail as a phaaaast bowler. Umesh Yadav has the best built so far for a phaast bowler in India. Rest will fizzle out like air from an inflated balloon.
MCcricket Posted March 7, 2012 Posted March 7, 2012 One thing that is most annoying is when people equate muscles and bulk with pace bowler lol, there are factors which are cause of injury , as pace is natural and can be improved a bit with work on action , delivery and run up, but main thing is stamina, core strength.Mike Tyson cannot bowl fast lol, infact bulkier or more muscle mass and u are prone to get more injured,it is ur bodies natural ability plus, I believe the word I look for is lithe as far as bowlers pysique not bulk.Ambrose, Walsh, Reid, Mgrath, Agarkar, Holding , were all very slender in their initial years, similar to this guy.If he has good natural action, pace, works on building stamina and core strength plus leg strength he will be ok, plus in general injuries just happen, infact the more bulk u have the more the chances of getting injured, a fast bowler needs a supple , lithe body with refined action. Some bowlers bowl with strength like Siddle most have a good action and rhythm, also as the article mentions have u guys seen Javagal Sreenath when he made debut he looked simialr physique wise. Desi Cartman Posted March 7, 2012 Posted March 7, 2012 Isnt it funny that Noel David (fielding coach) and Sunil Joshi ( a spinner) are giving expert views and are helping India find a PHAST BOILER :dontknow:
Raghav_12 Posted March 7, 2012 Posted March 7, 2012 Isnt it funny that Noel David (fielding coach) and Sunil Joshi ( a spinner) are giving expert views and are helping India find a PHAST BOILER :dontknow: Here on ICF, there are tons of experts on pace bowling without ever having held cricket ball in hand, So what's wrong if David and Sunil Joshi also chips in :cantstop:

That's when we selected him for the academy where he honed his skills,' he said 'If he keeps his focus and concentrates on his bowling, everything will come his way. As a youngster, he just needs to work hard and train,' he added. rkt.india Posted March 8, 2012 Posted March 8, 2012 This thready reminds me of a certain Atul "akhade ka Pehelwaan" Sharma' date=' where is he?[/quote'] but what was your actual account? Us thread to dump hue to zamana guzar gaya.
rkt.india Posted March 8, 2012 Posted March 8, 2012 too tall and bony. Probably a vegetarian. Shoulders don't look very strong. Legs are probably skinny too. Will phail as a phaaaast bowler. Umesh Yadav has the best built so far for a phaast bowler in India. Rest will fizzle out like air from an inflated balloon. Dude heavy or muscular body does not make one a genuine fast bowler. One needs to have fast twitch fibers for that. Most of the genuine fast bowlers when they first came have been thing and lean. Watch Brett Lee, Actor, and Bond, etc. when they first came they were as lean and thin as him. Another guy I tell you was Mohammad Zahid, he was as thin as 18 year old Ishant and was fiercely quick.
rkt.india Posted March 8, 2012 Posted March 8, 2012 find a bowler who can run through domestic sides consistently. This. In Indian domestic cricket, most ball release swing bowlers work because of the nature of SG ball which helps release swing bowlers most because of its upright seam in comparison to Kookaburra which has mild seam so bowlers need to hit the deck to get life out of it. Likes of Rituraj was swinging SG ball a lot but he was given Kookabura in Duleep Trophy, he was ineffective.
Old guy Posted March 8, 2012 Posted March 8, 2012 This. rkt.india Posted March 8, 2012 Posted March 8, 2012 so is there any consistent bowler who will get wickets in all conditions ? Yadav is one if he improves his consistency. Aaron too has a good release and action, but he is still a rookie.
