As I said, no real suitable candidate to go up against him. These runs are really helping him. What about Broad?

JoBerg 2nd innings - didn't pick up wicket (his fault - the first inning he bowled only 5-6 overs) England 1st innings (4th test) - 13 overs on Day 1 and 2 (with one over to Anderson on Day 3)

Show me the success Matthews got with the ball. Rankings are not based on 1or 2 odd matches, but on a period of time. Mathews has 19 test wickets in 43 tests at 60. What a great success! Ganguly and SRT have better test bowling average than him. He got success with bat so will be counted as batsman, not bowler. He has better success as an AR in ODIs.

If he keep an average of 3 wickets per match in nest 1-2 years, he might be considered a top alounder in tests too.

sachin34357 Posted August 13, 2014 Posted August 13, 2014 He's ranked 45th in ICC Test Championship Batting Rankings and he's the 6th highest Indian batsman in that list just behind Pujara, Kohli, Vijay, Dhoni and Rahane. He deserves to bat at no.6 we need to find a good opener to partner vijay and a middle order batsman and our batting would be complete. Vijay ? Pujara Kohli Rahane ? Ashwin Dhoni
