There is a debate among historians about the origin of the names Sachin and Sachin Tendulkar. Various legends surround the origins with some suggesting that 'Sachin Tendulkar' was an actual person who lived in the era and played an archaic version of cricket. However, it's highly debatable that such a person actually existed. What makes it more difficult is after the era the names Sachin and Tendulkar rose into such prominence that, its difficult to trace back one such person. Currently almost 1 in 3 humans in the solar system have names with a combination of these two terms. He was called the perfect player, the little one, the One God, by His followers. He is also rumored to have scored 100 tons in international cricket, which according to scientists, is an impossible feat for a human. Other names by which he is referred to was Tendu, Endulkar, God, Little Master, Master Blaster and Tendlya. The name and pronunciation differs from region to region and sect to sect. Sachin probably is an amalgamation of various fictional perfect men or sporting characters. A player so perfect, he could score 100s at will and had a career spanning 25 years Currently, Sachinism is the largest and fastest spreading religion in the solar system. According to current estimates, it will cause all other religions to go extinct by the next decade Practices Sachinism is considered a very flexible religion with no fixed rituals required. The followers are expected to believe in the one true God. Though followers within themselves can argue the relative merits of the religion and Sachin, versus outsiders, one is supposed to put up a united front and defend Sachinism unto death. Pictures, idols of the mythical player can be used though it's not necessary. All serious followers have the 'Great book of centuries' also called the 'Holy book of records' which they learnt by rote and can verbally quote whenever required. Though it's not necessary for the followers to play cricket at any level, they are ardent followers of the game even though they firmly believe that the game has gone to pot. They await the return of the golden age and the re-birth of Sachin Tendulkar. Some superstitious practises have also crept into the religion over time. Some followers believe that the number 99 is the number of the false prophet 'Sir Don' and is jinxed for all Sachin followers. They go to great length to avoid this number and believe that the presence of this number will delay auspicious beginnings. Another very popular superstition is the avoidance of the word 'pressure'. 'Pressure' is supposed to be the one weakness of the true one. True followers of course, condemn such practises Controversies and conflicts The end of the first decade of the 21st century with Sachinism on the rise was also a period of turmoil and conflict for the true believers. Their first conflict was against the followers of the false prophet 'Sir Don of the Aussie'. The Aussie (sometimes called Austria) is considered a mythical land populated by giant creatures adept at the game of cricket. The followers of Sir Don, the tallest and meanest of the giants, considered him the one true prophet of cricket though this was easily disproved. The puny natives where taken in by the tall stature and fair skin of Sir Don and worshipped him. Later, with the rise of knowledge and Sachinism, most educated people realized their folly and converted to Sachinism The start of the second decade of 21st century also saw many attempts from different corners to vilify and put down Sachinism. Surprisingly, most of these detractors were from the same country where Sachinism originated and not from Aussie land. Various sneaky devices where used and false prophets were put forward. But the light and understanding which Sachinism brings was enough to convert all true human beings. Later generations looked back and laughed heartedly at the followers of the false prophet Sir Don and the detractors of the one true Sachin. A shameful part of human history is when some of the die-hard Sachin followers vigorously prosecuted these misguided souls instead of dealing with them with patience. There was some violence and lots of social boycott against them. Thankfully, this was a brief period in history and mostly, the knowledge of Sachinism was enough to get people converted Symbolism Historians, most of them Sachinists themselves, have delved deep into the symbology of the religion. Unlike other religions which entice followers with the promise of a better after-life, Sachinism is the quest to become the perfect human. Sachin is oft compared with 'Manu' the perfect and first man of the now extinct religion of Hinduism. Sachinism prompts not only perfection in terms of developing one's body and mind, but also emphasizes the need to be a well-mannered human being. According to legends, Sachin, though the greatest of human, was also the most humble. Polite behavior and mannerism is encouraged. The bat is the symbol for valor, the helmet for protection and the squeaky voice is a symbol for politeness and humility. Sachinism does not differentiate between colors or creed or between gay and straight people but encourages people to achieve perfection through persistence and hard work.

Now SRT is being over shadowed by the likes of Kohli. Something that Sachin did when he played with Azhar, Siddhu, etc. Sachin, like legends before him, will have to take the back seat .... But appreciate the humor in this thread
