Luck was missing during England and Australia tour. The Team is ready to work hard to get back to the top. I won't give excuses for Team's poor show. It was my dream to be one of the best. Sachin says his focus will be now on playing game, not on contemplating target. I had gone through rough phases in my life but didn't lose my focus and commitment. I will continue to play as long as I enjoy. Being part of Bradman's playing XI is best compliment for me. I hope an Indian will break my record. I am glad hype over 100th ton is over. My father will remain my hero, I will imitate him throughout my life. I am in love with cricket, don't need to prove to anybody. I don't play for individual records, aim for team's victory. I do not need to prove anything right now. Nothing bigger than winning the 2011 World Cup. Talks of rotation policy should have stayed within the dressing room. Challenges in Test cricket are tougher. There has to be more importance to Test cricket. 100th ton was never my focus. No one should tell me when to retire. I will play till I have the desire. 2015 world cup. :woot: :haha: Seems confident. Also now that he's done with the 100th ton, expect him to score a lot in coming test series.

Needs to plan about his one day future because I do think its better for India if he prolongs his test career as one day team can still do good without Sachin. While in tests we surely need him for a year or 2 more till youngsters settle in.

Needs to plan about his one day future because I do think its better for India if he prolongs his test career as one day team can still do good without Sachin. While in tests we surely need him for a year or 2 more till youngsters settle in. I am sure he must be having his plans. He may not be feeling the need to share it with the rest of the world. Let's enjoy watching his game as long as we can.

While in tests we surely need him for a year or 2 more till youngsters settle in. He can easily play till then if he is in the right mindset and the passion is there. Because he is a top batsmen it will take longer for age to catch up, he can change his game a little and he has been doing that.

I don't read each and everything what critics write. I believe records are meant to be made and broken. In the bigger picture, records come when you win matches. If while winning matches you create recors great, else they don't have any meaning to it. During team meetings, we discuss on how to win matches not whose breaking which record." I started playing to enjoy playing and love playing the sport. There isn't anything bigger than winning the WC for India. I can't always be thinking of milestones. There are only two milestones I had to achieve - play for India and win the WC. My focus is to just enjoy the game and not on the next target as the biggest target has already been achieved. Question - How did you maintain your temperament during this phase from 99 to 100? SRT - During the WC we played around 3 knock out games but no one discussed my 100th 100 then because the focus was WC. Once WC was done the media build it up. I was always looking to play cricket but as the time went by it was everywhere around me. Everyone apart from my family and friends (they don't discuss about cricket) , wished me (with noble intentions indeed) for me to get the 100th 100 and hence it always played on my mind (whether you agree to it or not). I feel cricket should be the focus not the target. From a cricketing POV, it was a tough phase and I'm glad it's out of mind and out of way.
