What a disgrace for a champion batsman! But he came back fiercely in Delhi with a blazing knock hitting all of the quickies all over the park......I still remember like it was yesterday!!! It was the first time he used the hook in a long time. He was actually a good hooker early in his career, but cut that shot out becuase of its risk!

But Gavaskar's important moment in that series India downing West Indies in a one dayer for the first time ever. Hum log hai na... thing is even i like to see lara bat more :) but stats,consistency and over all impact wise there is no comparison but at his best.. lara was better then tendulkat at best ...2 most talented batsmen of our generation some of us who pickedl ara were not trolling eever since i started watching tests.. i rememb i used to stay up late to see this guy bat...wht a awesome player when on song..u know some thing special was coming same with tendulkar.. this guy is freak so consistent everywhere!

However, i did not see enough of the 1st version of Sachin (pre 2000).

Lee would not even come close to an all time great list of fast bowlers - and it's not just about his average, he was an average to trashy test match bowler for most of his career. He had a few good series, but to put Lee alongside the other bowlers in that list makes absolutely no sense. I am not debating Tendulkar's ability to handle fast bowlers, but weird logic and criteria being used to prove it like mentioning Lee in the same sentence as McGrath, Akram, Walsh while ignoring Waqar and Ambrose. Even a 38 year old Imran was better than Lee when Tendulkar faced him 1989.
