panther Posted March 27, 2012 Posted March 27, 2012 They bowled well against pak and have bowled well so far in this test, there not all gtbs that we think they are espically broad and anderson who bowled well in the UAE and now in the ongoing test. swann had a decant tour of uae and is having a good first test after a poor show in the first innings. with finn and his extra pace on the bench and monty also bowling well they have a good attack for all conditions.
vvvslaxman Posted March 27, 2012 Posted March 27, 2012 But they are up against some poor batting sides or rebuilding sides.
panther Posted March 27, 2012 Author Posted March 27, 2012 But they are up against some poor batting sides or rebuilding sides. yes this is true, there hardest test will be against india, who may produce flat tracks or turners if it is the latter than i doubt we will see 400+ scores from the indian team even though they are great players of spin. If india produce flat tracks than all i can say is best of luck to the English bowlers, but for a change there batsman might score a few runs.
Cricket Tragic Posted March 28, 2012 Posted March 28, 2012 The batting will also prove itself once they face our bowling.
saneindian Posted March 28, 2012 Posted March 28, 2012 They are going to test our batting when we play them. Outstanding bowling unit with some terrific fielders. The impressive part is their discipline in stifling conditions. Despite the heat, they have stuck to the plan and haven't offered any freebies for anyone.
Crookbond Posted March 28, 2012 Posted March 28, 2012 The batting will also prove itself once they face our bowling. This. Only rank turners can save us, don't see any reason how we can prevent the English from ranking up huge scores. The problem is - I'm not confident about our batsmen playing on those turners too.
adi B Posted March 28, 2012 Posted March 28, 2012 tbh the pakis nd lankans have been street smart in their respective test matches vs england, they got favorable pitch nd prepared very well for the series, compared to this i think india have a chalta hai type attitude, we will see a lot of players unfit b4 the english series, bcci will prepare patta`s.. india will not go for the kill in all test match, they will settle for 1-0 test series win, but england would come prepared after their failiures vs pak nd lanka , so who knows if they still have a chance to draw the series in the last test, they will take it nd might even draw the series

I am not sure of the venues but the ball may actually swing in the northern part of India during the winters.

They got off the plane and turned up at the ground.
Pagalpanti Posted March 28, 2012 Posted March 28, 2012 Well if the ODI series held last year is anything to go by we should win the series (not white-wash though) if we prepare turners.
panther Posted March 28, 2012 Author Posted March 28, 2012 I think they should play finn against india in place of monty or samit who will be smashed around the ground
jairamesh Posted March 28, 2012 Posted March 28, 2012 The thing is by time England arrive to India they could be number of 4 or even 5! :(( If they loose vs Loins 1-0 and loose to SA by margin of 2, I think they go below us and Australia:hysterical:. I still don't believe it we are no. 3 after being spanked 8-0:hysterical: How high did we reach in the first place!

They got off the plane and turned up at the ground. :two_thumbs_up:agree ??? SL spend 2 months in SA, flew off to Australia for an ODI series for a month, flew off next to Bangladesh for another ODI series for two weeks, and then in 4 days played England in a Test, who by the way have been playing in familiar conditions in UAE for three months (not to mention some of them went to India for practice for a month!), and arrived in Lanka a month before played practice games.etc...and still the feckers are complaining about heat and are now being owned by an ordinary left arm tweaker. :hysterical: If England loose this series 2-0, well then this England team is rather pathetic considering the amount of preparation they put in before these SC tours. (well tbh just their batting:hehe:, their bowling has been top notch:two_thumbs_up:)
maniac Posted March 28, 2012 Posted March 28, 2012 Well Pak batsmen and out of form SL top order are not the benchmark to measure how good their bowlers are..Not a dig at pak batsmen but they are not that good especially when the ball is full-pitched with a little movement.....In our conditions this line is going to be cannon fodder for our batsmen. Steve Finn could be a difference if he plays the tests as you need genuine pace to trouble batsmen in these pitches.
SLICKR392 Posted March 28, 2012 Posted March 28, 2012 Pak and SL batting aren't a TESTING ground for the English bowlers.
vvvslaxman Posted March 28, 2012 Posted March 28, 2012 Pak and SL batting aren't a TESTING ground for the English bowlers. They need to deal with our FTBs lol.... j/k. I don't trust our Indian batting line up against any opposition on any ground at this moment.

diga Posted March 29, 2012 Posted March 29, 2012 I think the doubt should not be on Eng bowling but on Srilanka post Murali/Vaas era.. Srilanka cannot win unless the pitch gives sharp turn & uneven bounce. ps: England have a decent bowling attack which can win them matches on flat/seaming wkts.
