The Dark Horse Posted April 3, 2012 Posted April 3, 2012 I'm surprised that the country has not recognised Raja sir's contribution to film industry. He is certainly a 'jewel of India' and has been composing music since 1970s. When will the country realise his greatness? For those who haven't heard much of him: EGh2gPJkFww&feature=related EwGeHvOCxfQ 6dOfXPop6TI I1v0XwZ_2UY V5qMS-K8eYY wz-MTrlIG_8&feature=related

For those who haven't heard much of him: EGh2gPJkFww&feature=related Dude, freaking beautiful track, almost rachmaninoffesque in the tempo shifts. reminded me a bit of this. :icflove: [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WTSc4hBdCd0]Theme from Love Story (1970) - Francis Lai - YouTube[/ame] An ex-boss of mine balki is a big, big fan of him and has worked with him in his films too. :hatsoff:
Prakat Posted April 3, 2012 Posted April 3, 2012 You've worked with Balki? :hmmm: :nice: Yeah, dude. Great guy and great boss, absolute gem. He gave me my first big budget TV commercial. :proud:

Prakat Posted April 3, 2012 Posted April 3, 2012 Didnt he direct a movie too? ^ You mean Balki? Yeah, he made Cheeni Kum first and then Paa. Both had music by Ilayaraja. It was like a dream come true for him. He had grown up listening to his music on the radio nonstop.

Would have loved to hear some fresh tracks in Hindi by the maestro.
