rkt.india Posted April 24, 2012 Posted April 24, 2012 he clocked 155 in 2011wc Must be speed gun mess. I doubt he can touch 150K now after so many injuries. He didn't in Australia.
jairamesh Posted April 24, 2012 Posted April 24, 2012 How come perera playing ahead of ABU Nachim This is what I don't get. If your top 6 batsmen don't get runs, what's your 7th batsman going to do. Abu Nechim is far superior bowler than Perera. I feel some these foreign players are way over-rated, especially the second rate Australians.
rkt.india Posted April 24, 2012 Posted April 24, 2012 dont think it was a speed gun error bcoz it was accepted officially . malinga clocked 150 a couple of times in the clt20 last year.but it is never easy to bowl at your fastest regularly, plus injuries dont help either. Even Akhtar was clocked at 159K by sped guns and that was was accepted officially, but that too was a speed gun error.
rkt.india Posted April 24, 2012 Posted April 24, 2012 akhter's speed was not shown in the list of fastest balls during wc' date='but malingas was[/quote'] I think they did who it.
vishalvirsingh Posted April 24, 2012 Author Posted April 24, 2012 147.5K- Umesh Though he went for 40 runs off his 4 but still I liked his bowling as there were pacy balls and he bowled at 144K with a 6 to 7 yard easy run Up
vishalvirsingh Posted April 24, 2012 Author Posted April 24, 2012 140+ with the easiest action and a very small run up If he is supported he will become a hero in Tests and even in One Days.
Old guy Posted April 24, 2012 Posted April 24, 2012 If i am going to purely pick someone for Outswinger Balaji would be my first choice. He doesn't have this exaggerated and useless outswing that Sree often bowls but has this outswing that beats the batsman just enough. i didn't saw the last match so dont know abt it but in earlier games whenever he got that outswing there was some nip in it.. i cant explain.:cantstop: lets compare his swing with swing of pk,vinay or pathan u will see the difference :P
jusarrived Posted April 24, 2012 Posted April 24, 2012 Yadav wil only get quicker imo Awana dosent really look fast , what ever the speed guns say
vishalvirsingh Posted April 24, 2012 Author Posted April 24, 2012 That's what I think if he tries hard he can bcom a 155K and bcome one of the fastest in the world as he is equalling Morkel in india and in australia he touched 152K.....he can surely bcom Superfast

vishalvirsingh Posted April 25, 2012 Author Posted April 25, 2012 Saw awana bowling 139.3K now What was his fastest today
RedFever Posted April 26, 2012 Posted April 26, 2012 Awana was pure crap today.. just another trundler in making...If u guys consider awana as the next indian fast bowler.. god bless Team India
rkt.india Posted April 26, 2012 Posted April 26, 2012 Awana was pure crap today.. just another trundler in making...If u guys consider awana as the next indian fast bowler.. god bless Team India Trundler. : dontknow: He was bowling in 140s. Took 3 crucial wickets and put PKXI in a winning position. You are not gonna bowl rippers on such flat and slow tracks. You are not gonna always get bowled or edged dismissals in T20. It is hit and miss, on a good day you can do well, on a bad not so well and even in his not so good day, he did pretty decent.
MCcricket Posted April 26, 2012 Posted April 26, 2012 Awana has enough pace to keep batsmen honest, strong action and hits the bat hard, now if he can back it up with some seam or swing he can be good, he doesn't have out and out pace, but does bowl in good areas and uses the short ball well.
ShebbySB Posted April 26, 2012 Posted April 26, 2012 If a bowler bowls 135+ consistently then he's good enough for Intl cricket.Awana is certainly faster than that. He's hostile fast-medium bowler & has clocked 140+ several times in this years IPL.Some bowlers who are playing for the national team are not better than him. He's better than Vinay,Munaf,Praveen,Irfan(I see him as an all-rounder not a frontline bowler).Along with Zak,Umesh,Ishant,Aaron & Dinda he'llmake a good pool of fast bowlers. He's fastest in this IPL has been around 144kph & he has bowled mostly around 138-142 which is pretty good. He's not trundler & people who call him a trundler are crazy or trolls.
saneindian Posted April 26, 2012 Posted April 26, 2012 Awana, Dinda and Veer Pratap have been very impressive so far. Awana is now a certainity for India A, Dinda will get a run in the side and Veer needs to continue his development. In another season or two he too would be ready for international cricket. Waiting to see Rahul Shukla and Shami getting a chance for their respective teams. Also, hopefully looking at how bad RP Singh has been, Mumbai give a chance to Nechim again. It's a shock to see him on bench given how important he was for MI in winning the CLt20. All these guys are not express (150+), but can all hit 140+ and be around the 137-138 kmph range, good enough for international cricket.

None of them are really good enough for international cricket but when the poverty of bowling resources is so low then you have to accept whatever crumbs are available. In nearly every game an Ind trundler bowling at the death guarantees a win for the chasing team. Its not even funny anymore, just sad.

But he is just average or maybe less than average if u compare with the quality of fast bowlers other countries have in the team.
